The realization that your 4-12 football team did virtually nothing to improve itself is disappointing to say the least.

Sorry but I cant get excited about re-signing most of my own 4-12 guys, and staying inactive so I will have cap room in the future to keep even more of my 4-12 guys.

Are we rebuilding? Are we trying to win now? There doesn't seem to be a clear cut answer, which leaves you in what is seemingly a perpetual state of 8-8, which is the worst place to be.

I get the idea of not wanting to overspend in UFA, but they just don't draft well enough to do that. Yeah, yeah, they've nailed the very top picks very recently, but the later round guys just don't contribute, pretty much at all, so I don't see how we are supposed to get to the next level.

4-12 isn't a realistic portray of a Romo led team. On the flip side, 12-4 may not be an accurate portray of a team that relies solely on Romo to close out games.

I'm not for sure either which way the Cowboys are going. Granted, overspending in FA can backfire, but going into next year with the very same team, with just Romo back* isn't a strong contender to win it all.

I agree that the team struggles to find quality depth/role players after the first round.

Banking on Romo to stay healthy for 16-19 games is also looking less likely, as he likes to always make a play instead of throwing the ball away.

What was the Patriots' record the year that they lost Brady for the entire season? They went 11-5, with the same quarterback that this team couldn't win with, Matt Cassel.

Some teams have coaches who can adjust, create, and compensate. We don't.

Thought he wanted to sign with a contender. Ravens were 4-12.

They may be closer to being a contender than the Cowboys. But they are far from elite, even with Flacco returning.

Maybe it was about the money after all.
