Honestly, any guy that puts Hayden on the bench, or better yet, stocking shelves at 7-11, looks great to me.

He's a big upgrade over Hayden. We need a true run stopper at the one tech and Thornton is that. He was a pain in the *** along with Cox in our games when we struggled to run the ball.

But 3 tech also needs to be bit of a quick twitch guy. Thornton isn't that either.

To be fair, that position is not one that goes after the QB in this defense. He would be anchoring the line in the middle, perhaps pushing back some, but not enough to allow a seem that RB could get through. His job is to command the double teams so the other guys can get the glory.
