Cowboys interested in Haynes King QB Georgia Tech

The Denver Broncos had Zach Strief and Cam Williams on hand, and the Chicago Bears had offensive line coaches Dan Roushar and Kyle DeVan in attendance, as well as Director of Player Personnel Trey Koziol. The Dallas Cowboys sent a three-person contingent to the workout, including quarterbacks coach Steve Shimko.

Finally, the New England Patriots had three people on hand, including assistant offensive line coach Jason Houghtaling, quarterbacks coach Ashton Grant, and Tony Kinkela, director of college scouting.

Quarterback Haynes King was on the money, and one NFC East team described him as “dialed in” throughout the entire workout. For those keeping score, he hit on 52 of 54 passes and was very accurate. Over the course of the past two days, King met with the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys D, Indianapolis Colts, and Minnesota Vikings. King has been lauded for his leadership and toughness by scouts.

The guy did show some in tough game situations
I mean seriously why not in the 7th? Take a flyer and give him a couple years. You never know

A 7th and you may even be able to keep him on the PS in 2026. Howell is only signed for one year and I dont think Milton beats him out. I dont think both are on the 53

Now that you mention it, its been a while since the NFL had a stand out convert from QB to WR or HB

He was a good college QB, if not very good. Problem was that they used him like a RB and his shoulders got banged up and he could barely survive a season being a QB and the guy running in the middle.
King was a legit Heisman candidate for most of the season.


Georgia Tech lost the ACC as their defense fell apart at the end of the season, minus the UGA game.
They were trying to mimic Matt Eberflus defense in no pass rush and no coverage. Watching them can't contain NCST, barely hanging onto a win vs Boston College etc...

I feel like King could be that Tayson Hill hybrid player where he could be enough of a threat at QB, run the ball and do anything asked of him. Problem is how often do you want to take out your actual QB to run some gimmick plays? I don't think he's a good enough thrower for the NFL to start, but could make it as a backup?
