They should have been interested as soon as he was about to leave the giants!

Was out of their price range then, that might not be the case now. Parsons, Lawrence, Fowler and Armstrong is a decent starting point but we lack talent at LB and need to do more to improve the pass rush against better offenses. Just like 2007 - a bunch of sacks but the pass rush would vanish when we needed it most. Need more than 2 consistent sack artists and also need a 1T/NT who can drive the center back on every play and draw a double team to amp up the pass rush and help clean up the running lanes through the middle.

When you have to include our starting LB as a DE, that tells you all you need to know about our DEs.

And that was before we lost the overpriced/inconsistent Randy Gregory to free agency.

Kinda I guess. But Parsons is also that good as DE. I think he could start anywhere in the league at DE.

Nah, Stephen is smarter than that. Better to wait until he is washed up and will take the vet minimum. That way by some miracle if you can squeeze a little out of him you look smarter than everyone else. Of course the chance of that happening is almost null.

Yeah I call BS on this one

I can’t go $10 for JPP but not go a few more for Wagner
Of course it's not just the annual salary that factors in, it's also the term. JPP had a down year, so they may be looking at him as a guy willing to do a 1 year contract (maybe with an option for year 2) to trying and prove he deserves a bigger contract than he may get now.

And maybe so but he's OUR STARTING LB so you trying to argue DE is in fine shape because Parsons can play there is really a reach. He's a part time edge player unless you want to play him there full time........... and in that scenario, our LBs are pretty terrible.

Didn't the Cowboys try this crap back in 2020? Starting vets long past their prime on the DL? It was an embarrassment.

Haha, typical signing{if it happens} someone that is on the downside of their career or a never gonna be. And people wonder why this franchise has been wading in mediocrity for the last 2 plus decades.

Dallas is so freaking cheap. Go after these guys after their rookie contract when they are in prime shape. They are churning the garbage pile that has reached the landfill.

Zeke was already on the decline 4 seasons into his career.

I remember when JPP could have become really good, and then he had too much fun at a 4th of July and lost a couple digi.
I remember reading were another HOF DE was saying how vitally important having those 1.5 fingers is for an edge rushing DE.
Its important for drinking a cup of coffee, so just imagine coming off the edge with speed and already being mismatched by 1.5 digits.
