Paul Alexander is in his 23rd consecutive season as Bengals offensive line coach, and he is also the team’s assistant head coach, having added that designation in 2003, when Marvin Lewis took over as head coach. Alexander has 24 seasons overall with Cincinnati, having opened his tenure in 1994 with one season as tight ends coach.

so was Hudson Houck when he came back. I worry this guy is burned out. His last couple of years have not looked too good. Lots of draft choices not working out.

We sure do love our Bengals, Lions, and any other coach we can find from a loser franchise.

And Linehan for the most part has had a top 10 offense in scoring since coming to Dallas.

We were a loser franchise that let go Payton and Zimmer who then went on to become successful head coaches. Haley and Bowles were on this staff who we considered trash and went on to find coaching success elsewhere.

I don't know much about Alexander, but it's pretty stupid to disqualify them based on where they are coming from. He might not be a good fit at all but that's what the interview process is for.

with the way things are in dallas its going to be hard to get quality asst coaches if the cowboys don't make the playoffs next year is probably garrets last season along with linehan

Just a question for the board here, what does an "inspiring" OL coach hire look like? Is it someone trendy from college? Is it Marc Columbo? Do we just google search "top 5 O-lines" and try to poach from that staff?

There's really a lot that goes into the hiring process. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. But for the most part I think the FO knows where we want to be and have an idea generally of what coaches are better for the players and culture that are being built up.

Cincy, re OL Drafted 5 1st rounders, 3 2nd rounders and 4 3rd rounders in his time and only TWO made a pro bowl.....
