He says this every year, the barometer is not winning SBs but competing for them (ie. Making the playoffs)

No team cleans house because they didn’t win the SB

I can't imagine a GM issuing that ultimatum before opening week. No one operates that way. There is a ton of context that goes into an NFL season.

I agree. Winning the whole thing is difficult and often not about being the best team, but catching the right breaks at the right time.

They are good enough to be in the mix.

It’s not win it all or failure, especially given the NFCCG drought.

That’s why it’s important to enjoy the ride instead of spending an 11-12 win season moaning over how Dak will choke in the end.

Took me a while to embrace that.
Because Dak is so polarizing, watching him is half the fun.
.
But you what Jimmy Johnson said about luck and breaks.

Look at the picture of Jerry Jones. It hurts, I know, but I almost expect a Yoda laugh to come out of his mouth.
Jerry is never going to die.
When he does, they will do
A Weekend with Bernies with him.
An old movie reference for you younguns.

As long as Jerry is relevant and making billions, he could give two craps about a SB.

Almost always the people on one particular side of THE debate that are responsible for the overwhelming amount of insults……they are also the only ones that want to ban and censor others from free expression

seems to be a certain trait they all share.
I agree, most of them are buddies with the hall monitors.

This is a win win for everyone in the cowboys organization except the head coach.

Jerry: #1 most valuable franchise. That's HIS superbowl. He's ALREADY won it this year!

Players: every authoritative figure in the Cowboys organization is a puppet for Jerry, and none of them have any real power. Jerry is fine with the players...win. lose or draw. They can just go out there and ball, and if they win then great, but if they lose that's OK just try harder next year. Sure, he'll sacrifice a kicker here or there, but everyone else is safe under Jerry's wings.

Jerry will fire a coach every couple years as a scapegoat....and then start it up all over again!.

The only losers are the coaches ....but they know the deal when they sign on....... and the fans. At LEAST the ones who only care about a SB win, which is a small percentage compared to those who measure a successful season as double digit wins and a Wild Card or Divisional round playoff loss.

My only beef is I wish I could work for Jerruh. No pressure! A car salesman has more pressure to perform than Jerry's employees!

Even though the Dallas Cowboys are expected to be one of the NFL's best teams this season and made several big additions in an attempt to get over the hump in the playoffs, Jerry Jones doesn't view 2023 as must-win year for his franchise.

In an interview that will air in full on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown (h/t ESPN's Todd Archer), Jones downplayed the idea that it's imperative for this roster to win a Super Bowl:

"How we are as a team as we evolve through this season, all of that we'll weigh. We could very easily have a team that doesn't hold the trophy up but be dramatically better than one that if you cleaned house. So we'll let that set of facts, [let] that play during this '23 year be the influencing things when we get to '24. You ask me, 'Is winning the Super Bowl imperative without blowing this team up?' And I say, no, it is not."

Jerry isn't saying "Super Bowl or bust" because the last time he did he looked like an old fool.

This guy put a fan meet AI of himself in his house of narcissism.....you really think he is cabable of admitting he is wrong?
I really want to ask the A.I. version of Jerry, “why do you suck at being a GM?”. Just to get an answer. But seriously, making an AI hologram of yourself is the most narcissistic thing I’ve heard of. I bet he has one in his house, in every room, just so he can be surrounded by himself. Maybe he should make a hologram of Jimmy Johnson and the hologram of Jimmy repeats “Jerry, you’re the reason we won 3 Super Bowls, not me “.

For an owner/GM who claims to want to win the Super Bowl more than anything, Jerry Jones surely stands solidly in denial of that statement. Seems a shame that what he says means nothing in consideration of his denial that the Super Bowl means so much to him in the clear light of day. For a man who professes to be a man of his word, the fact of his true intentions become clear as nothing but hogwash.

Who's asking to "clean house", half the fan base just want Dak to prove that he can up his game (when faced by adversity) in the play-offs. At the moment the rational fan (and that's not Jerry) can see that the forthcoming BIG CONTRACTS will mean hard decisions will have to be made. We've signed the 'secondary concerns': Steele, Kearse and Diggs and we're already overspent in 2024.
What Jerry needs to do, is ensure he maximizes output for his dollar (and that's not particularly a dig at Dak).

Sorry, that just isn't the reality of human nature. This country is all about fighting for success and Jerry isn't immune for that very gamble to win.

Naw, he is trying to show support for those in his franchise. He is shielding them from a sense of pressure...that's already there because it's a very aggressive sport. He doesn't really show his hand except to show confidence in their play. He is a valid leader as such. He's also not a stupid man no matter what is said on site here.
