I noticed that the LB snaps as a percentage of the total defensive snaps is way higher this year than last year.

Potential LBs Snaps = Total Defensive Snaps x 3

If I add up all snaps played by LBs and look at that as a percentage of the Total Potential LB snaps:

2018
77%

2017
42%

In the Philly game, both Vander Esch and Jaylon are listed as playing 100% of the defensive snaps.

That means they played Zero snaps of Dime Defense.

For the Philly game, the total LB snaps as a percentage was still below the season average.

Philly Game
73%

They played the LBs a fairly extreme percent in the Titans game.

Titans Game
84%

The primary reason has to be the coverage abilities of the LBs they now have on the roster.

Some of it may be due to Kris Richard.

With the injuries to the Cowboys d-line, I wonder how much three man front we’ll see today? Could mean an even higher pct of linebacker snaps.
