Cowboys lead the NFL in sacks

Wow the Chiefs only have 6 sacks for the whole year, how crappy is that franchise

Wow. I've been spoiled. I didn't know we were getting to the quarterback this well. You really have to think twice about what you do with Wade......

Good point. The defense has been dominant since he took over. They also seem to be getting better with each game.

I agree. I wonder what's the record for total number of sacks this team has gotten. I'd like to think we're coming in close on that.

Wade deserves some credit for this. The way he has been ripped lately you would think we were as bad as Kansas City.

The recent performance of our defense begs the question: what the heck happened against Stl, Arz, and the NYG?

Just saw the Cowboys franchise record is 62 sacks in a season. Damn. We won't be getting that but we may come close.

According to this we had 53 in 1986 and 62 in 1985.

Surely 62 is out of reach, but 53 is very possible.

Fitzgerland was a beast. He was making catches with two guys on him. I don't fault the defense too much that game. Fitzgerald is just that good. As far as the Rams and Giants game go the defense was put into horrible field position both games due to having Brad Johnson at quarterback. But the defense hadn't hit its peak yet. I think this defense we're seeing could've stopped those teams even with bad field position.

Fitzgerald isnt much different than T.O...

Fitz has better hands and body control. T.O has more speed.

Difference is.... Garrett is about as creative as a Tick and Romo locks on Witten.

Warner spreads the ball to Fitz, Boldin, Breaston and even overachieving Urban....

I wasn't comparing Fitzgerald to TO. But he has the best hands in the NFL. He catches every ball that comes his way. He makes Steve Smith's hands look pedestrian. Fitz could be the best receiver in the leagued. If not him, maybe Andre Johnson.

Can't argue that, he really is just THAT good.

The defense allowed 274 yards and 17 points against the Cardinals. That's not a bad game. The two special-teams touchdowns are what killed us.

Against St. Louis and the Giants, our Brad Johnson-led offense turned the ball over inside our own territory multiple times, leading to several touchdowns in each game (the defense got stops several other times it happened), and things snowballed late after the games were out of hand.

Lets hope they keep it up. Hopefully Ware will lead the league in sacks. When was the last time a cowboy did that? Anybody know.

no complaints

I think we lead the league also in dropped passes and quitting on routes. Thanks T.O., for getting us over that hump! TEAM LEADER BABY!

We're actually eighth-best in dropped passes (19). Cleveland and Jacksonville are tied for the most drops (30), and the Giants, Eagles, Broncos and Bengals are tied for third (28).

Glad to see us getting to the QB so often. The defense has been playing darn good lately. They just need to continue to step it up, even more now with all the injuries, and help get us into the playoffs.

We lead the league in sacks, but check out passes defensed. We have 57.

Baltimore: 105
Chicago: 100
Pittsburgh: 89
Washington: 87
Gints: 83

Only five teams have fewer.

Jacksonville: 56
Kansas City: 56
Denver: 51
Indianapolis: 51
St. Louis: 47
Detroit: 39

Now, I don't know exactly what passes def'd tells you, but this isn't very good company.
