Cowboys legend DeMarcus Lawrence tells Jori Epstein this will be his last season

Legendary? From tired to legendary
I agree that legendary is a bit much. He gave us some solid seasons, but was never the type of player that you build your team around. He was a good complementary piece to Micah when he was healthy, but that was only two out of their four years together.

Probably should have retired after last season and gone out on a high note. No telling what will happen this season. I mean, he did play in 17 games in back-to-back seasons in 2022 and 2023, but last year was only his third healthy season in the past five. Tough to overcome wear and tear and Father Time.
He now has something no one can take away..........Super Bowl ring
Good for him .......IMO he'll go out on top regardless of what happens this season

Can't take the ring away from him, but he could have learned from our other DeMarcus. Ware played for the Broncos the season after winning the Super Bowl, fractured his elbow in Week 2, missed several games, played in 10 overall and had back surgery in December, ending his season. At that point, did Ware need to do more damage to his body? Players often stay too long. Sometimes its best to learn when to call it quits. I wish Lawrence luck that he won't endure another injury he has to live with for the rest of his life.

His tone seems to suggest he agrees with you .........I mean, making the announcement public suggests ( at least to me ) he knows the end is near. I wouldn't expect the same push and/or fight through injuries as he has done in the past. In fact, it would not surprise me if he ends the season on IR.
