"Someone" said that we might get a punter to replace McBriar, in part, because of his very steep salary cap hit. It hasn't happened yet, but, its not the stretch that some of you made it out to be. I wonder who said that? (Whistling and looking around) :)

McBriar is one of the better punters in the game. When we had a ton of cap room, keeping him was a no brainer. When we sign Ware to "The Mother of All Contracts" for a defensive player, replacing McBriar might mean the difference in being able to sign someone we want or foregoing that player.

I wish this website had a "search feature" as I am sure that AdamJT13 has put up the cap numbers for every player on the team including McBriar. I am curious what McBriar's cap hit is for each year on his current contract.

Parcells valued field position to an extreme and had the cap room to keep McBriar. Before Parcells, the Cowboys used to spend very little in the nature of draft picks or salary on punters and kickers. Keep that in mind.

McBriar is going nowhere. Did last year teach us nothing?

You may be right that McBriar will be a Cowboy this season, but that would be your opinion, as opposed to a fact. You have made a statement of fact, which you can't back up unless you are Jerry Jones and are posting on this forum anonymously.

I'm not predicting McBriar will be replaced by a rookie, but it remains a possibility. I highly doubt many persons would have predicted the Cutler trade either, but it obviously did happen.

But even Jerry Jones can't say that because he doesn't know for sure that he will be the same Jerry Jones in week 17.

Thanks for the philosophy lessons, I appreciate it, but McBriar is going nowhere because teams don't cut top 3 players.

In other words what he said went right over your head. Perhaps McBriar is not back in time? At this point you have no idea why they may look at another punter. Also even if you have well established people at positions it pays to give due diligence to scouting. There will likely be a kicker in Camp besides Folk. Believe it or not, NFL teams do cover their bases.

McBriar is probably the guy. No argument from me on that. It doesn't change the fact that you got all pissy over a simple report.

You're the one getting pissy. Teams bring in multiple kickers and punters every training camp just to keep the real players from being overworked. The scrubs don't mind because it lets them show work to other team's scouts.

That's just how it works. Sorry you didn't know that already.

I hope they draft another kicker, just so you will be institutionalized.

I didnt know that? Look above at my post. See the part I bolded for you? Pretty self explanatory really if you would learn to read. That's on you.

As far as being pissy, I am not being pissy with you. I am pretty much fed up. You're a rude individual who has had multiple chances to get along with others here. Your first response in this thread was more of the same. Since you decide to be rude I'm going to feed it right back to you. If you want my advice, more fiber in your diet. Either that or learn to get along with other people and knock off the rude crap, because it isn't going to fly here.

Ever.

Clear as mud?

I would snap his leg in 4.58 seconds if I had a 40 yard running start. That's how I roll.

Punters because Danny White was one. But this is like asking me if I prefer diarrhea or constipation. I hate them both.

:laugh2: I don't know why you hate on kickers! They can be the difference between a game.

according to DMN blog-

Punter Mat McBriar was rockin' at the Free Reign show, along with the rest of the party animal specialists.

Unlike last time I saw the Aussie punter, he was wearing a shoe on his right foot. He reports that all is well with his recovery from the broken foot, which he suffered when Arizona's Sean Morey came crashing down on him after his game-winning blocked punt. McBriar has started punting again.

Yeah, you're right. That was extremely rude of me. I shouldn't insult people like that.

Years ago I went to a football camp in Texas. We were running suicides and the kickers were practicing holding their water bottles. One guy was smoking. I've never forgiven them.

On top of that the "difference in the game" happens when the rest of the grunts kill themselves to get the ball in position for them to hog all the glory.

I hate them.

LOL okay fair enough..I remember the soccer players, I mean Kickers come to practice when I played in high-school..We'd be doing Oklahoma's in 90 degree heat. They'd be setting up for field goals in shorts and a tank top.
