Man, I'm really liking what I'm seeing from Matt Moore. Delhomme will be the starter when he returns from injury, but I can see the same scenario playing out that did last year with Bledsoe and Romo.

Would've been nice for Moore to clear waivers so we could've re-signed him.

Even if he was re-signed with the Cowboys, and then what? He'll never be #1 as long as Romo remains healthy, most likely #3 and at best #2. It was best for him to sign on with another team to get a chance to play.

I didn't say sign him to be the starter. Not sure where you got that. But, would we have Romo if we didn't sign him, even if he wasn't seen to be anything more than a backup? Romo didn't get his shot until BP got tired of Bledsoe. Not every player signed is for a starting slot.

I didn't say you did nor did I say sign him to be a starter. My point was be wouldn't get a chance to play and if he had a strong desire to seek more playing time, he would be better off with another team.

So are you suggesting that Romo might eventually lose his starting gig?

Bledsoe was not a long term solution, whereas Romo is.

I agree.

The Cowboys signed Moore for a reason - he's got some promise.

So what he would of been worth a first or second round pick down the road. Starting QBs are hard to find in this league, when you find a Matt Moore you have to hold onto him.

I'm not suggesting that at all. Just saying Matt Moore is a good QB we shouldn't have let go.

I agree Bledsoe was not a long term solution. But you can't say that the Cowboys envisioned Romo as he is now when they signed him four years ago. Romo benefited from sitting on the bench for a couple years and learning from some pretty good veteran QBs.
