And just found out my Dad is dying from Cancer.

Makes football not such a big deal.

Lost my Mom at 22 to the same thing.

Weird...to see this in perspective, that I was so upset about such a little thing and then, just now..

Sorry to dump this here. I was just being so...obtuse about worrying about football.

I'm not quite processing this, and sure this will get moved.

But, well, here it is.

Sorry.

That's rough, Drew. God be with your Mom and Dad. We are here for you.

Thats awful, sorry to hear that. Yes this is just a game and in truth its only entertainment. It doesn't mean much of anything in real life. Good luck to you.

Hey brother. My wife was diagnosed with cancer in 2014 and I've been through the ugly of it. She (and my daughter in her belly) could've died.

If you ever need to talk, please feel free to message me.

Much love.

CAncer sucks and too many people are getting it. I wish we would pool all of our nations resources and find a cure.

So very sorry my friend, football is meaningless in comparison, prayers for you, your father and your family.

Very sorry to hear this. The game is nothing, plenty of time to bemoan the loss. All the best to your Dad and your family. The wife and I will pray for you and yours.

Thanks. I don't know a lot yet. He's 78 though, and that's a thing.

I don't even care about what happened anymore in football.

But I do hope all you and yours are ok.

I am sorry for you. I hope you can spend as much time as you can.
Record video, I lost my father years ago and do not have any recordings of his voice.

Godspeed.

Life is precious.

Hey man sorry to hear about this. My dad may be an outlier but cancer returned when he was like 70 and he was able to beat it again (so that's Dad 3 Cancer 0 so far). Hoping the same for your dad. Good luck and Godspeed.

I understand fully, lost my mom to cancer and her mom before that. I do believe in prayer and will pray for your dad.

Trust me, my Dad and I have a lot. He's not even my real Dad, he adopted me. My biological father is not a nice or good man.

Guess it's where I do the Cowboys thing.

My biological father worked for Control Data and EDS as a contractor in the 60's and 70's.

He wasn't a nice, good or even slightly decent person.

He beat me, beat my Mom, beat my brother. Regularly and with vigor.

But he was rich, and knew Ross Perot, and worked for the Cowboys transferring their paper data to tape.

The good part of that horrific open was that I got to know a lot of Cowboys. I got to go to Tex Schramm's house, got to meet Hollywood, Lilly, Staubach, Too-Tall, Dorsett.

Crazy Ray bought me Chopper Command for my 6th Birthday.

But my Mom was a brave enough person to leave my father, and marry the guy I called my Dad. A salesman from Missouri who went to work for Roch Pharama in Dallas.

And yeah, he's always been my Dad, my hero. He took me to all the Cowboys games that I started missing because we lost our team swag and season tickets, and he never cared I wasn't "his".

Sorry, this is all off topic. I haven't even talked to him yet.

Just hit like a freight train.

I'm so sorry to hear this, brother. I wish all you had to worry about still was the Cowboys being out of the playoffs.

Sorry to hear that. I lost my sister to cancer few years back. It's tough. Keep your head up. Prayers to you and your family.

I would take a Cowboys loss every year if it meant good health for my parents, family is vastly more important than football. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes a tragedy to see the most important things in life. Prayers sent your way
