Sources say that following the signing of Hilton, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones called Beckham to make a run at signing him. In fact, since Beckham left Dallas after his free-agent visit, it has been Jones speaking to him directly almost exclusively, discussing a possible signing.

When the Cowboys signed Hilton, a member of the organization actually asked Hilton, "How would you feel if we signed Beckham, too," according to a source with knowledge of the team's actions. Hilton's response was along the lines of, "That's great. I'm here to win a Super Bowl." Hilton would have been totally fine with it.

The Cowboys might have been Beckham's landing spot (as compared to his other suitors: the Giants and Bills), but the timing hasn't worked out and neither have the contractual discussions.

It seems apparent to me that OBJ doesn't want to be on Britt Brown's rehabilitation schedule. He'd rather do it his way.

I think Jerry believes he’s coming since they’ve spoke and discussed signing.

Nothing says commitment to winning like an 80 yr old part time GM with an obsession for WRs.

The talent to win is there on the team. What we lack is talented coaches…MM is a fraud. KM is not a great play caller. But whatever. Other coaches get more out of their team with less. Our head coach announces publicly that they will go soft in practice and they almost get beat by a 1 win team … see the problem…

Jerry is infatuated with this. It's quite odd. I wonder if he walks around The Star all day just mumbling stuff about OBJ to himself?

100% accurate. Plenty of talent to win here but average coaching staff doesn’t give them an edge week in and week out. Part of the problem is the 80 year old GM who hires the coaches.

He really has turned in to Al Davis. Next thing will be Big arm'ed QB that can throw it a mile but suck at everything else. Oh wait we already did that with Drew Henson

Jerry and his son frequently negotiate through the media. Funny to see him meet his match. OBJ will do so via Social Media (hence his cryptic post the other day).

It's annoying having this story floating around for this long without resolution. Either make it happen or shut it down and focus on being the a 5th seed WC team that is a true threat to run the table.

It probably starts first thing in the morning at breakfast when he's asked if he wants any orange juice with his sausage and salt.

Beckham wants guaranteed money this year and next year, but he's still at least four weeks away from being able to play football and possibly as much as six weeks away.
So he wants to get paid for this year even if the Cowboys lose in the playoffs?

So, essentially nobody other than Jerry is interested in signing him but he still won’t make a deal?
