Cowboys may be eyeing Joe Milton

BB says Trey was offered an extension during the season, but chose to enter FA...possible it was a honest offer.
Lance should have signed with a UFL team. Given himself some more actual game reps, put something decent on film, and maybe then try to come back and win a job in the NFL.

He's still younger than a lot of the rookies that will be drafted next month.

Gotcha, I didn’t know that. Now I’m more surprised that Trey hasn’t accepted that offer since the offers aren’t coming in.

Honestly right now, if I could have my way, I would trade a 5 and maybe a 4th for this Milton kid and sign Trey to be a 3rd string minimum wage guy. Realistically speaking, love him or hate him, if Dak misses any significant time due to injury the season is basically over. I’d rather play some young pups with potential at the QB position than have a washed up veteran barely keeping us afloat and screwing up the draft.

If Dak goes down I want to be preparing for the future. So Milton, or someone like Milton is my preferred backup and then have a guy being groomed as 3rd string. Will Grier doesn’t excite me as a project QB.
I agree, and Stephen has said they want to get a young QB2, so hopefully he keeps his word and they draft a guy. I'm fine with Lance, Milton, Levis whoever long as Schotty signs off on the guy he wants to develop.

This is just stupid enough that we have to worry it's true. Jerry gave up a 4th for Lance. Why wouldn't he give up a 3rd for Milton?

The Bills weren't even trying to win that game. Yes Milton carved them up in what was basically a preseason game. It was Milton, the Patriots starters, and Buffalo's backups out there.

We've seen Will Grier have some great preseason games too. And in the actual preseason, Milton completed something like 35 percent of his passes. That's when it was an even field, backups vs. backups. And he stunk.

Who told you the Bills weren’t trying?

The reality is the Bills reguar season backup players were better than any roster fodder Milton played against in the preseason.

If your claim is we just haven’t seen enough, that’s a legit take.

However, the special pleading to throw shade at his performance against the Bills is lame. He made quality plays out there.

This ...... that guy and his boss Rockport are never right about anything.
Wow, that is interesting you mention Rockport. Had a few PM's today.

He knows what is going, but won't reveal himself. People miss Rockport.

Again, this is just the sport outlets throwing cowboys name in there too draw up interest in the story. It is easy to say "yeah Cowboys could have interest in ......."
That would not necessarily be a false report because they could have interest, but you could throw any team name there instead of Cowboys and it would be a story but no where the story that Cowboys are.

We have no interest in Joe Milton. And hey, like the supposed high interest in Cooper Kup, Milton's agent or someone with the Patriots could just be throwing Cowboys name out there to see if anything sticks.

Some of us have been saying that for a while. He needs experience. It may never turn him into a starting NFL QB or even a quality backup, but that's the only way he stands a chance of getting there.
