Cowboys may be eyeing Joe Milton

Again, this is just the sport outlets throwing cowboys name in there too draw up interest in the story. It is easy to say "yeah Cowboys could have interest in ......."
That would not necessarily be a false report because they could have interest, but you could throw any team name there instead of Cowboys and it would be a story but no where the story that Cowboys are.

We have no interest in Joe Milton. And hey, like the supposed high interest in Cooper Kup, Milton's agent or someone with the Patriots could just be throwing Cowboys name out there to see if anything sticks.
Well, they could have interest. But if the Patriots are asking for a Day 2 pick, I don't think any team has that much interest.

The Bills weren't even trying to win that game. Yes Milton carved them up in what was basically a preseason game. It was Milton, the Patriots starters, and Buffalo's backups out there.

We've seen Will Grier have some great preseason games too. And in the actual preseason, Milton completed something like 35 percent of his passes. That's when it was an even field, backups vs. backups. And he stunk.
I had read that he played well in the preseason. Just looked it up and he did have a 4 of 6 performance against the Panthers, but he was 2 of 7 against the Eagles and 5 of 17 against the Commanders. Not very impressive numbers there.

The article I saw that praised his preseason must have been just talking him up based on some throws his arm strength is going to allow him to make.

Dallas only wants to pay league min.
That's the one reason I could see Dallas doing this. It's going to cost the team several million for a bona fide vet backup. Grier is only costing them $1.03 million.

I think the Patriots would want some return on investment. Since they spent a sixth, it would take more than that.
I'm not sure, the fact he's being shows they have no long/short turn plan and they could very well be in the process of releasing him. The best I would do is conditional 6th......escalated to 5th if he starts a few games.

This makes a lot sense for a 6th or 7th rounder...........let him sit behind Dak and see what happens

If we can get this dude for a 6th or a 7th I’d be really excited. I would even stretch to say a 5th and maybe a 4th.

My thinking is the same as with the Lance trade. If you can get a QB with boom or bust for a lower pick (4th being the highest) then it’s a good gamble. I would be very happy to trade a 5th, 6th or 7th. I’d be fist pumping the air if we got him for a 6th or 7th.

Bottom line is Dak is on the wrong side of 30 and in the wrong side of the injury list. I would like to bring in a QB once a year or at least every other year as a possible replacement or bridge QB. Lance busted. I’m completely cool with losing a 4th on the gamble. I’d be excited for another gamble on this kid. Hopefully not a 4th. But we have to be in the mindset of actively looking for Dak’s replacement and before we start using 1st and 2nd, I’d rather go 4-7 and see if we can strike gold.

No to a 3rd round pick.

Do it trade a 5 and lets get all this draft a qb talk off the table and get serious. Trade down get a 3rd and lets get starters at rb wr cb and dt mazi is about outta here. Need his replacement NOW!
