Cowboys may be eyeing Joe Milton

Listen...the front office floats these things out to the media and then comes to this board to see what the response is. If there is a "yeah that sounds good" or "i'm ok with that" then it is a no go from the front office. If it's a "hell no!!!" then front office is all in on making it happen. LOL.

I'd take the year of experience over a new rookie.
I don't think there's that big a difference

if they have someone more specifically, they targeting they could fit their scheme in the draft you start fresh, so you have an extra year on the rookie deal he didn't get a full rookie playing sleep you act like the dude started 14 games...

nah 1 game so hes in the League a year and without wasting my time I can almost for sure say that game he played in most likely was against backups late in the year Buffalo probably already was in the playoffs pulled a lot of their players... so you think one game experience is like a one game..

I mean one literal game I might rather have the guy for an extra year under a rookie contract and get him broken in our system but I didn't say it I'd be against getting this guy but I'd rather it be for a whole lot less draft compensation or I'll pass..

Joe Milton has played in 1 game for the New England Patriots, his first NFL game being on January 5, 2025, against the Buffalo Bills.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:
  • 2024 NFL Draft:
The New England Patriots selected Joe Milton in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

  • First NFL Game:
Milton played in his first NFL game on January 5, 2025, against the Buffalo Bills.

  • Game Result:
In that game, Milton rushed for a touchdown and threw a 48-yard touchdown pass.

  • 2024 Season:
Milton played in 1 game during the 2024 season.

So I'm looking at the draft and Tennessee has the first pick and reportedly going to pick Cam Ward. With this not being a great QB class, I'm wondering why they are giving up on Will Levis so soon? He's only played 2 seasons, he's had only about 17 starts, he has a rocket for an arm but yes, he makes some dumb *** mistakes! Could he be a QB you could still pick up on his rookie contract and let him sit behind let's say DAK?
Jerry wants to sign a QB2 at league min.

Well two straight seasons we don't have a fourth so it would have to be next year's 4th I don't have a problem give him a fourth for this guy if they really believe he still developing but if his upside is that big like better than Trey Lance then why not I'm not agreeing that you should but maybe you give a 6th and 1/5 or 2/5 from this year if they really believe he can help the team that's not a big deal... I mean people keep saying how we waste a fourth while you you know what Trey Lance you know what team picked him in the draft and gave three first round picks for the guy yeah that would be the 49ers front office that was dumb just because the Cowboys took a fire on him with a fourth it's not really that big a deal I don't have a problem with it to this day,

now Mingo I've got a problem with that one no doubt dudes a 6th , 7th most likely he was probably gonna be cut anyway and you could have picked him up this offseason for nothing so yeah this one was not a fan of but Trey Lance I still don't think that was a mistake...
I have a big problem. Milton isn't NFL starting material.

Why do I get the feeling that the Cowboys will draft a quarterback in one the first 3 rounds
My feeling is your correct. My hunch is they like Brady Cook QB from Missouri. The other could be a guy like Dillon Gabriel. Both have major wheels and very good passers . Not huge arms but very good nonetheless.

Based on what?
Based on his inability to read a D, his extremel slowness making decisions, his horrible inability to adjust to pressure, and terrible ball placement.

Joe Milton has a strong arm, and that's it. At his size, he's better off moving to the TE position. His elongated release reminiscent of Tim Tebow. Just won't work in the NFL.

I've always liked Joe Milton, huge fan. He would be served well setting behind Dak, learning, and when needed could provide a very capable option at QB2. He needs coaching, he needs teaching, but he can play at a high level. A 3rd is too much but only if you don't believe in him. Also, I'd still want Jalen Milroe.

3rd round pick? Jerry will give a 2nd rounder to get it done. You see, with him as owner and GM he can do things quickly. He doesn't have to check wth anyone. Thats the advantage of having Jerry. Damn, we're lucky we gots him.
Accept resign his best players quickly.

This guy has some serious potential with the right quarterback coach I wouldn't mind trading for him.

Brady Cook? I am not a fan of Luther Burden III but the excuses I saw about his lackluster season was his quarterback sucked. Please enlighten me.

So......a younger version of what we got

Well then, at least wont have to adjust the playcalling

not only these posts about our quarterback ridiculous, their mind numbingly off base,

not even close to reality...

these narratives are ridiculous our quarterback can and has read defenses, you know the quarterback that was rookie of the year, he's nothing like this guy this guy might turn out to be as good as Prescott someday, but right now he's not even at that point that Dak was AS A ROOKIE.. Prescott was supposed to be a late first round pick early second round at worst, but his DUI got him bumped to the fourth round, he played like a player that was supposed to be picked higher his rookie year and since.

It's really insane that we have to point out the fact that just in 2023 he was second team all pro and 2nd MVP voting he led the league in scoring he's the reason lamb got paid you understand that he's had like three or Four Seasons where he's been a top five player in this league, and you're trying to tell me he can't do those things on that list...

You'd be so far off base it's ridiculous, right now just in the NFL he's in the top 6 and touchdown interception ratio, he's nearly 2 to one in his win loss record, he's been part of many #1 offenses in this league, and many of them have been top three at worst, when he's healthy where he starts and finishes the season he's never been part of a losing season..
that's just some of the good bullet points you're blaming him for not having a run game or a defense or an offensive line or wide receivers that separate or the fact that we've had bad coaching when it comes to them being out coached by the other side with game plans and in game adjustments..
it just hasn't been there but sure his bad games, you're saying he's not capable of playing well, I don't know where you been except for requoting parrots, sheep, haters, rhetoric, hyperbole, and false information about our quarterbacks Romo and Prescott...
pretty much the same players, pretty much the same hate and the same false narratives...
you're so far off base please go back to whatever hole you crawled out from under until you get back straight you can say you don't like him you can say he's not the best quarterback in the league you could probably even say he's not elite but saying that he can't do those things on the list..
I don't know where you been around he's about to probably own 75% of the Dallas Cowboys quarterback records he's in the top four all time in Dallas cowboy quarterbacks ,you can debate where he would fit in that list, but if you think Aikman and Rogers are that much better than Romo and Prescott you're delusional...
they were on better teams, they were on teams like jalen hurts just was part of all in teams that show up in the playoffs and play like a team.. They had the ownership GM and coaching staff to make sure that got done that is what Roger and Troy had that they don't have provided to Romo or Prescott yeah they've had great regular season stars sprinkled all over the team but they have not had a roster assembled anywhere close to those Super Bowl teams they don't show up in the big games...
that's not a quarterback problem that is a problem with the rest of the team and yes it will show with your quarterback when he doesn't have a whole lot of options even Patrick mahomes just pretty much got shut down by that eagles team and he has a better coaching staff and a better defense and he is more talented than Prescott, of course, but look at the last three years his stats are declining and yet they still find a way to win the games because they have a better team and yes they were in the Super bowl but they look horrible until what oh that's right garbage time stats he and worthy got on the same page and made it look respectable no they were dominated.

That is what most of the Cowboys bigger games look like with our last two quarterbacks is we get dominated on all sides and all phases including coaching when you get Prescott or Romo a strong run game in the playoffs a strong defense they don't have to be elite they just have to show up and do their jobs and everyone needs to execute but it's usually 4-5 players or certain groups that just cave in the moment and then they go back and blame the quarterback...

That's what casual fans do blame the quarterback... Some of you are the same ones same Parsons doesn't show up in games and I pointed out all the big game stats by the top three pass rushers in this league and they all look exactly the same they look like they don't show up in big moments and that's not even true there's reasons for it...

No to a 3rd round pick.

Why would anyone give up a 3rd round pick for a guy who was a 6th round pick the year before? And he only played in one game last season, and while he did play well, it was the last game of the regular season against a Buffalo team that was resting its starters.
