When was the last time Jerry had one quarterback on his squad in April?

When did Schramm/Landry? The goal is always to get a young QB through the draft and have him behind center for years to come.

In most cases trading for a starter is just salvaging an older guy to fill the gap until a younger, longer term option is found.

Well said. And in this case, we are trying to get a future starter. I just hope we're not dumb enough to give up a 3rd for a guy whose only good game was vs BUFF's backups.

I said this earlier in this thread, but I can't imagine a team giving up a 3rd rounder for a guy who was a 6th round pick just a year before and who has only played in that one throwaway game. I'm not going to worry about this for now. I don't think there is anything that suggests the Cowboys are going to do that.

What skillset does he have besides breaking the pocket and running? Lance is not the QB you want if you have to throw into coverage. I think Lance can do a good job on a run heavy team including him running, and throwing against defenses committing to stopping the run. Jalen Hurts has made a career out of this. But Lance has never been in that situation.

And can't stay healthy. You see, Hurts is built like a RB, 6-1/223, Lance is not, 6-4/226.

Only Qb who runs a lot who isn't built like a RB but stays healthy(mostly) is Lamar, and that dude is the most elusive player I've ever seen in the NFL, bar none.

If they give him a 3rd, I might not even watch day two of the draft. Thursday night is my Friday at work, so I always take a personal day. That's not changing. But day 2, a 3rd for that guy? I wouldn't give a 4th, and I don't even watch day 3.

They're actually pretty long, but what difference does it make? Both are similar duel threat QBs. The Eagles abandoned using him as a pocket passer and game planned around his strengths. The 49ers did not do that with Lance. Why would you draft Lance as a pocket passer?

i'd throw a high 5th this year and a 4th next year with a conditional if he plays and reaches markers, it can move to a 3rd pick. We have NO backups as of right now.
