This lack of LB depth should have been addressed in March.
yes but they expected the Guru DQ to turn boloney into steak. Cap Boy is a BIG issue and frankly, DQ is. We have 0 gap integrity defensively. Its just too much.

Broken after 5 games? How many games will they win? You thought the kicker was broken after 1 extra point.
You thought that the Cowboys were going to destroy the Cardinals and beat the 49ers. I don't think you have any room to critique any other fan's prognostications.

Because he doesn’t cover well. He likely wanted to be paid and teams didn’t cover his cover skills.

He is a classic two down thumper. Teams are going more spread offense and guys like this are harder to keep on the field.
He’s not a cover guy for sure but we could use a guy who can stop the run. I don’t know that LVE is great in coverage at this point in his career either

A 27 year old LB with 150 tackles last year was just sitting at home? What are his weaknesses?
I thought it was a money thang.
i heard whispers that coverage tasks was not his cup of tea.

But after I heard Evans was asking for his release from a SB contending team, then I would wonder what was
going with the coaches, what was his role, game snaps or why he was disgruntled .. or could he be a headcase ?
Just speculation.

Agreed.

He is an elite tackler. He just doesn’t cover well.
Then don't ask him to cover we really need a downhill guy that can thump the running backs and get the guys running near the line of scrimmage we don't need him to be in coverage whoever made-up those type of defenses well sometimes you just gotta call the defense that works for the players you have and I don't remember Leighton vander ash being a guy that can really cover well either and this other guy we have #33 he's like a ghost maybe I'm not watching the games close enough because the defense is so bad in these last two games I just turned the game off

So anybody know the rules so if we sign this guy only to the practice squad can he be plucked off our practice squad just go all in and put the guy on the roster and sit back down malik Jefferson. It's gotta be clear that Evans is better than Jefferson and why expose them to the practice squad because usually when the Cowboys are interested in somebody somebody's gonna come get him off our squad just cause we wanted him before we can elevate him...

are we confident this is going to be the case on every play? Who replaces him on the Edge now that can bring heat? I see it as additon at LB by subtraction elsewhere
And frankly aside from DLaw, we really do not have a full time DE that can set the edge vs run.
- Armstrong is back to struggle vs run,
- Williams seems to be still struggling with that painful turf toe.
- You don't ever want to rely on Fowler starting, the way he struggles vs run. Spot play by far his greatest asset.
