his name was Sean Payton.

As someone who sees roughly 10-12 Saints' games a year, no. The only year it really worked for him was 2006 and there was just something magical in NO that season. Since then Payton has been out smarting and cuteing himself out of wins regularly.

The sad fact is that had Haley not been seen on the sideline arguing with Boldin, none of this would be coming up.

Uhm, probably had more to do with him absolutely taking Jim Johnson behind the woodshed than a 5 second clip of him arguing with Boldin. The Eagles defense was on fire going into that game, hadn't allowed more than 14 points in a game in their previous 6 games, and Haley racked up 24 on them in the first half. Uhm, how many points did Boy Genius score on them in the season finale with the season on the line again? Was it 7? Oh, just 6. We didn't even score a touchdown? Yikes.


He's going to Kansas City. Pioli was basically groomed in player personnel under his father Dick Haley with the Jets, where Todd also worked. For someone who was out of coaching for a while, Parcells certainly did gather up a pretty nice offensive braintrust of complete unknowns and nobodies when he came to Dallas with Haley, Sean Payton - former NFL Head Coach of the year. Tony Sparano - likely current NFL Head Coach of the Year. Too bad Jerry talked him into keeping Zimmer on the defensive side.
