If we could have used our 2nd, instead of clevands. I would be all over this

but we might lose out on a WR, because of it

So we moved down 4 spots, gave up 87 and 159 for a 2008 1st rounder.

That's the way you have to look at it. Dallas gave up a third (87) and a fifth (159) for a first rounder in 2008. I'd take that deal every day and twice on Sunday.

You almost have to assume that the player taken at #26 was the same guy they would have taken at #22 given who was taken 22, 23, 24 and 25. None of those guys were probably even on Dallas' radar.

LOL, Philly will regret making this trade with Dallas , as Spencer and Ware terrorize their QB's for the next 10+ years!

With all the youth we need to add, trading away three picks (to a division rival) is a bad idea.

IMO we still need starters at FS and CB (I think Henry's spent and Glenn is too old). We have NO DEPTH at DT. We NEED youth at WR and the OL.

Too many needs to force the issue....and we did force the issue. I think we could've traded for another pick lower down.....for a lot less. Jerry just panics when his guy is on the board.

One of them wasn't ours originally

Like I said earlier.

We still need help at so many positions to really solidify our roster.

FS
DT
WR
CB
OL

How can we do this now?

We have one more pick in the first day.

I think we still have good options for FS Biz and maybe DT and WR. Cover corners are pretty much gone and OL we might just gamble some more on.

So if I told you we'd have to give up our 3rd and 5th for a first rounder (probably top 5-10 next year) in lieu of filling one of those spots on the first day, you wouldn't do it?

FS is not getting filled this draft... DT maybe late. WR or DB is coming next, with the other getting filled on day 2. OL wasn't that pressing this year with Davis signed, but I figure we'll draft some late rounders.

We had 10 draft picks. After the Cleveland trade we had 11 picks. After the Philly trade we still have 9 picks (we still have a second), plus we get an extra first round pick next year. And we basically got a first next year for a 3rd and a 5th this year.

We did great. Actually, this is highway robbery because I can guarantee you that second 1st next year will be a top 10 pick.

You're probably right.

Meachem and Bowe are gone. Jarrett, Smith, and Rice probably will be by the time we would've drafted at 36.....Spencer would definitely not be there.

My biggest problems are these:
1. We gave the Eagles two more first day picks.....Everyone is harping on about how they'll regret it when Spencer and Ware are getting McNabb. But what if their 2nd and 3rd terrorize us for years?

2. We could've probably found a partner lower down and could've saved some picks....of course, this is speculation.

Again the Eagles now have two seconds and two thirds......we've just given them ammo to shoot us with. Now, they did the same with us...but they'll have two opportunities in a draft with great value on the first day to really improve their roster.

Outside of DT, I don't think we need "help" at those positons.

It's always awesome to upgrade positions, but we're talking about a possible top 5 pick NEXT YEAR. Yes, it's possible it may be later, but come on people! Any team outside of the Cardinals would have made the trade that Jerry made.

The trade value is too great.
