This '08 team can be so good it is scary. The question I have do they have the mental attitude to jump on a team early and often. Grab a team by the throat and put them away. Never letting a team think they have a chance to win the game.

I guess we will see in Cleveland.

True they don't but Tank Johnson, Jat Ratliff, T. Owen, and MBIII does amongst others that will provide a little more attitude and nastiness. The OL is full of attitude led by Columbo. I think they see that it is needed to take them over the top. I look forward to seeing some of that throughout the yr.

our offense has the potential to be better than new englands or indianapolis

our defense has potentail to be better than chicago or baltimore...

on offense we're missing speed, and on defense we're missing swagger. they need to begin to force their will on teams. I remember when we played atlanta, the falcons said that at times they knew they couldnt beat the cowboys, they were that good and they knew it.

our defense still needs to improve on our pass coverage and our offense still needs to work on running the ball and committing less turnovers.

Ray Lewis is so tough he cannot play in a 3-4, by his own admission because he doesnt effectively shed blockers man on man.

He uses speed and doesnt out tough blockers.

Not saying just them but this team played with 0 emotion last year....

That's a bit of an exaggeration. They played with emotion. They just blew it when it mattered the most.

More killer instinct on defense would be really nice, though. I'm hoping to see just that with a rejuvenated Roy and Zach Thomas bringing his brand to the table. When Spencer comes back, we should see improvement in his second year. As a result, Greg Ellis will be more rested, allowing him to be more effective when he is in the game. Spears looks to be poised for his best season ever. The secondary is improved. Remember T-New will finally be a part of the action and Pacman will be rid of the rust soon. I think we'll see improved play out of the D, which will give the appearance of more emotion.

As far as the offense, they should be able to hold down the fort until the injured guys come back. This is year 2 under Garrett's system, so it may even be better than last year's version. All of the starters are returning, except Kosier (6 weeks) and Julius. And we may even have upgrades at those two positions. Hurd and Austin are both improved and the new kids on the block - Jones and Bennett - will add a new dimension. And don't forget this very important point - Cricket is healthy. They missed his blocking last year. Success will breed emotion. Watch.

Reading these threads, I'd swear we were 8-8 last year.

We won how many games last year by double digits? A lot. But I guess if we win by less than three touchdowns, we lack killer instincts and mean streaks.
