Wouldn't it make sense to IR Gardner?

He can't play anytime soon and we invested a pick on him.

I meant to put IR on Gardner...but the formatting on that list is messed up. So I just left it as is. Regardless....I think today is the day they will do something w/ him to open up roster spot. Same could happen to Matt Johnson as well.

I'm good with these roster moves.

I would also try and trade Randle; they really do not need to carry 4 RBs.

With Murray's track record that is awfully risky. I love Williams as a RB.....But w/ Williams and Dunbar coming off injury as well...I won't be shocked to see us go long there since we are supposed to be committed to running the football this year.

Murray is really the only one with any value, and even then, I don't see a team giving up much more than a 3rd for him

True, but he is still the #1 back so trading him would not be a option for me.

The only reason I would try and trade Randle is because it would be a waste to cut him. I like the idea of keeping 4 backs but if they are committed to running the ball then they need a FB. Randle may be a good special teamer but he is not on the same level as Williams and why keep him around just for STs when a WR can probably perform the same job.

Yes, it is true that none of the backs on the roster have a history of of staying healthy but you can say that about almost any back these days. Keep a back or two on the PS that have shown something in the pre-season and only go with three backs on the roster.

62Aladenoye, Josh
16Benford, Tim
81Briscoe, Dezmon
71Gardner, Ben - IR
63Goodin, Stephen
7Hanie, Caleb
57Holloman, DeVonte - Waived injuried
37Johnson, Matt - betting IR
49Kreiter, Casey
87Najvar, Jordan - IR
63Ojomo, Adewale
47Thomas, Johnny
43Smith, Keith

As good a list as any although, won't surprise me to see Lawrence on the list as IR to return and Spencer and Okoye go on PUP list. Gives the team more options for Thursday's game and probably a head start on checking out who might be cut from other teams on Friday and Saturday.

I think Randle is safe b/c, of the three, he's the best in pass protection. Should Murray go down, Randle is going to get a lot of those 3rd down snaps. Might not be as good of a runner as the other two, but that ability gives him a lot of value.

And, to be honest, I don't think teams would give you anything for him. He was a 5th-rounder and has never done anything of note on the field. With so many good RBs around, I don't think he'd yield anything in a trade.

You could easily add 6-8 more names to that list. I was just trying to figure who would they keep to get though Thursday nights game. Wouldn't be shocked if they made about a half a dozen other moves after todays cutdown.

I dont understand why we are trying to make room for Williams. Hes great in the 4th quarter against preseason 2s and 3s. "Great" is used very loosely being that he was under 4 yards per carry over 12 carries.

Because he did it with our 2nd and 3rd OLinemen. Most of whom will be bagging groceries in few weeks.

The initial cut list is very likely to be players injured or whom can't play Thursday.

Guys still missing practice that were borderline are likely gone.
We need the healthy spares for Thursday.

Nothing wrong with the list, but I think we probably keep Aladenoye...we only have a few tackles....probably need him to play on Thurs. Can get rid of the receivers without a problem...we have a lot of WR's even cutting them. Get rid of the injury guys obviously. Hanie a no brainer. We have 9 safeties on the roster so that is a target area for sure. Adams should be a goner but with Randle nicked and we likely will sit Murray and Dunbar...he might stay till final cut. Can give kicker Hornsey the heave ho. Dontavis Sapp a target. Wayne Tribue. Might have to keep Ojomo because we are still thin on DL. Possibly Green or Webb at corner.

Hanie is staying until after Thursday IMHO.
I fully believe they want 3 QBs not named Romo for Thursday.

We may see as many as 20 cuts tho with other guys brought in and asked to play Thursday.
No reason not to give some targeted cuts a test by fire.

Hanie could play...I could see that.

I doubt they are signing anyone that plays this week....it's Tuesday already and we play Thursday.

Absolutely sit:

QB - Romo
RB - Murray, Dunbar(although I think he should play)
WR - Dez, Williams
TE - Witten, Escobar
OT - Free, Smith
OG - Leary, Martin
C - Frederick

DT - Melton, McClain - although on Cowboys Break they talked about maybe getting Melton a few snaps
DE - Selvie, Crawford
LB - Durant
CB - Carr, Claiborne
S - Church, Wilcox

So that is 21 that don't play IMO. So there are still around 50 players available for Thursday.

Tampa Bay cut.....

DE Chaz Sutton

Titans
DE/LB Kendrick Adams

Have there been any tweets or info leaked on any cuts yet?
I don't do tweets or even know where to look for them.

But I don't expect any major surprises, pretty much the players already mentioned. So guess ot don't matter yet. LOL
