WR DJ Moore or Robbie Anderson from Panthers would be ideal.

Robbie Anderson is the more realistic and economical option. Reminds me a lot of Miles Austin.

Commanders may also be sellers, CB Jackson is asking out and NT Payne should also be available.

Cardinals incompetence utilizing OLB/SS hybrid player Isaiah Simmons is akin to their misuse of Haason Reddick.

Other than OL and possibly a WR I don’t think we need any additions.
Unless it is just too good of a deal to pass up. A quality DT, QB or RB wouldn’t be out of the question either.

Making deals is supposed to be Jerry's super power.

He needs to walk his talk.

so in your scenario you would be ok for a down and out cowboy team trading a high first round picked player to philly?

Read the title of thread again.

Take advantage of fire sales.

No first round pick trade scenarios need apply.

And you act like Cowboys have never traded with NFC East teams before.

Negative nancies and zero imagination posters need to back to playing in the busy traffic where they belong.

I don't expect us to be making any trades, but I do wonder if someone like Grady Jarrett would be possible if the Falcons keep losing. I still think we need more pressure from our regular DTs than we get and are missing that dominant 3-tech piece we need to be elite on defense. The only reason I think about him as a possibility is because we have his former head coach as our DC.

I'll give the Cowboys credit that they have built a relatively deep roster. There certainly aren't pro bowlers at every position but there aren't many Jeff Heath's either.

In order to upgrade the team you have to get a pretty good player. I'm not sure how many of those will be available. The number of positions where an average NFL player would noticeably improve things is what? DT, MLB and QB?

I think we've basically reached the point where there just aren't upgrades available in free agency or the draft. We've drafted ourselves into a corner here.

Sure would be nice to see this FO trade for anybody, at this point, and show us that they're serious about making a run. Doubt to see it though.

Both Moore and Anderson have contracts that Dallas will not take on. The only interesting name mentioned is Isiah Simmons who is still on his rookie contract and allow Dallas to have him under a reasonable contract for the next 1-1/2 years before his 5th year rookie option kicks in.

For Arizona Simmons plays an ILB role in the Cardinals base 3-4 defense but he has been bounced all over which has stunted his growth and career.

In Dallas, he would be an ideal addition to the Dallas defense and be used as an alternating OLB/SS wherein he would be able to man the OLB spot when Parsons is positioned at DE and take over the near the line SS type with Parsons at OLB and allow Simmons to be an occasional blitzing defender.

I doubt that takes place but certainly would add another multi-year young talent to the defense.

I thought Moore is on a rookie deal? Did he get extended? But I'd be all for Brown the DT

DJ Moore cap hits:

2023 $25M
2024 $20.9M
2025 $20.9M

He signed a 3-year/$61.8M extension.

DT Derrick Brown was selected #7 overall in 2020 and is on his 3rd year of an affordable deal so no way Carolina trades him.
They are looking to dump higher contract deals like Anderson, Moore, and McCaffery.
