This is truly an honest question, are there really “trade deadline fire sale” in the NFL? I know this happens in the NBA, but the NFL??

So since no one after my post has responded to my question, I’m questioning all those post are from fantasy GM’s.

You're forgetting something. James Washington is coming back. So if this idiot front office has any thought of needing another WR that will be their guy.

It's a flawless roster with amazing depth.
idiot front office???? Id say our roster looks pretty good when looking at the rosters all those "Genius," front office have assembled.

Sure.

But WR is just one area of opportunity.

And Robbie Anderson is better than Washington imo. Pretty sure Washington has never had a 1,000 yard season yet.

An upgrade at NT, OL (Teven Jenkins?) or LB would be amazing.

In Dallas, he would be an ideal addition to the Dallas defense and be used as an alternating OLB/SS wherein he would be able to man the OLB spot when Parsons is positioned at DE and take over the near the line SS type with Parsons at OLB and allow Simmons to be an occasional blitzing defender.
Simmons is one of 2 guys that may be worth the trade imo. Simmons can be a SS or a LB, and can even rush off the edge...that's a crazy skill set for a DC like DQ, and for a defense that's multiple like the Cowboys. NT Brown from CAR is the other player. Give the defense a impact NT in the middle so the DEs can eat even more, and he would unlock Osa too.

Stephen is tight with the cap, but these guys are worth...build the defense and stop paying crazy numbers to WRs n RBs.

I would pursue a linebacker, interior OL or WR for the right price. That’s about it.

DT isn’t our problem in run defense. Our run defense is largely an issue of linebacker play failing to contain the edge.

Unfortunately I don't think Bruce Willis is waiting for Stephen to step out of the bathroom.

I think we've basically reached the point where there just aren't upgrades available in free agency or the draft. We've drafted ourselves into a corner here.

I agree. Once you have an average player at every position, you should just give up.

I wouldn't mind picking up Suh, and axing Chauncy Golston, who doesn't do much except ride the talent of his teammates.

Suh is definitely an upgrade over Golston....

WR DJ Moore or Robbie Anderson from Panthers would be ideal.

Robbie Anderson is the more realistic and economical option. Reminds me a lot of Miles Austin.

Commanders may also be sellers, CB Jackson is asking out and NT Payne should also be available.

Cardinals incompetence utilizing OLB/SS hybrid player Isaiah Simmons is akin to their misuse of Haason Reddick.

Absolutely,
But do you trust Jerry not to overpay ?

  • How often do fire sale trades happen?
    • It would generally need to be a player that will be a free agent that the team knows they won't re-sign.
    • Maybe Payne is in that category, but it seems that Washington would find a way to re-sign him.
      • The issue is that other contending teams would be in the bidding on a player like Payne.
  • Cowboys
    • What position upgrade would really put them over the top?
      • The defense is holding opponents to an average of 14.4 points per game.
      • I don't see a defensive player putting the Cowboys over the top.
    • WR - Would WR Robbie Anderson really make a big difference?
      • Cowboys WRs
        • Lamb
        • Gallup
        • Brown
    • TE
      • Maybe.
      • I like the 2 young players for the future, but for 2022 an upgrade over Schultz could really help the offense.
      • Darren Waller - Raiders
    • Center
      • Biadasz is OK but a top tier OC would really help this team.
    • RB
      • Cordarrelle Patterson (Offensive Weapon)

I guess you answered your own question.

There ARE players out there who can help upgrade team without breaking bank of assets.
