He is talking about Solomon ThomasYou're thinking of Chase Young. Third overall with the Commodes.
Might be good reason to have pause about selecting either at 12.i wonder what Whitecotton thinks of Mykel Williams and Shemar Stewart, both similar type players who have underperformed in college.
I just don't see Parsons not being on the field, and I think our better run-down ends are Kneeland and Turner. Who knows, though, maybe to keep from wearing him out, we won't have Parsons out there at all on first down. I just think that having him out there at LB on those plays gives offenses pause because they have to assume he's attacking. Having him at end on first downs just gives the offense a chance to lean on him and wear him down. From what I hear Eberflus on 3rd down likes to have 4 down linemen rush and have 7 guys defending the pass. I don’t see Parsons playing linebacker at all next season. He might move inside on passing downs for mismatches but that is it. Baring injuries we have a potential solid 5 man end rotation. Kneeland, Williams, and Turner have to step up.
Workout warriors and practice gurus are some of the worst in game players. It doesn't amount to a hill of beans.Cowboys fans have to be feeling optimistic after newly signed pass rusher is shown putting in the work this offseason.

The Dallas Cowboys may not have made the big splash that fans were hoping for during free agency. Actually, some of the signings could be considered like finding a diamond in the rough.
It was apparent that the team wanted to add depth to their push rush, as they brought in three defensive ends this offseason.
One of those names is Payton Turner. Turner spent the first four seasons of his career with the New Orleans Saints, and now is looking for a fresh start with the Cowboys.

I could see Micah possibly playing SAM in the base 4-3, so the more stout DEs can handle the run and Micah can deal with a TE or be free. Question is can Micah play the position properly or even wants to play it. Of course #11 would move to DE in nickel.I just don't see Parsons not being on the field, and I think our better run-down ends are Kneeland and Turner. Parsons plays the run pretty good. His run defense issues have been greatly exaggerated. The issue is Parsons is a smaller defensive end so he shouldn’t be in the game 90% of the snaps he will wear down. That is why the Cowboys have the five ends I mentioned and will consider drafting one early as well. Williams and Stewart will be in serious consideration at 12.I just don't see Parsons not being on the field, and I think our better run-down ends are Kneeland and Turner. We get these hopium articles like clockwork every off-season, as every other team does. As long as the fans tamp down their expectations, I'm ok with it. Glad the guy is putting in the effort.“Putting in the work”, eh?
Couldnt be his contract year, could it?
LOL stupid Cowboys fans
So, optimism is fluff. What is pessimism?Lord this must be the fluff article season, right on schedule lol. It's a huge leap of faith counting on this kid to be more than he's been. But I do like the work he's putting in. A for effort.
Read the entire comment before losing your mind. Thanks. So, optimism is fluff. What is pessimism?
What is the point of pessimism? I've never understood it. If the team is pessimistic about a player, they shouldn't have the player on the roster. There SHOULD BE an optimistic POV for every single player on the team. Of course, many if not most won't fulfill the most optimistic forecasts, but then some exceed their expectations. The Spring time is the time for optimism if you are a fan. Otherwise, give up on being a fan at all.
There is no upside to wallowing in misery. Go find something that gives you joy instead. Seriously, live your best life. You cannot do that being a pessimist.
He’s only played in 31 games in four seasons. Can we really call him a "pass rusher"? He only had 10 total sacks in 4 years of college and 5 total sacks in 4 years in the NFL
I know sacks don't tell all, but only 15 sacks in 8 years?
