It's a legit question coz even if Mike returns, he may want to choose his own new defensive coordinator. Besides, there's nothing to suggest Zimm is coming back either way. Remember, MM's DC during his tenure with the Packers was a 3-4 guy.

I would think knowing this is likely his last shot, Mike would want his own guy. Someone he can count on for the next 3-5 years.

I wonder who it would be on defense, but if he picks an OC is he going to fire shotty, is it going to be someone that's a low key guy so he can still meddle in the offense????

It's heavily stated in their contracts that Jerry can/will get whomever he wants and eventually the HC will be allowed to fire that coordinator lol

Thats why I think it will be up to Zimmer. I dont think the Cowboys would bring him back if he wants to coach
