Cowboys not making it to post season is by design

I think Jerry does want to win. He is getting older. He hears the criticism. I just think he doesn't have what it takes to build a team to win. He got some good players this year and last after he messed up the Parsons deal. But he just does not have the coaching staff to take this team to the playoffs. Parker was overhyped and I am curious what Jerry was told about him. I get it, you want a younger guy to come in and develop into a top notch coach. But that contradicts a win now philosophy. They don't have time to let CP develop. He is at least another year, maybe two away, if he even turns out to be a quality coach.

I will say this. I think this teams is as good as if not better than any of the 12-5 teams Mike McCarthy coached - talentwise. No, I am not advocating bringing back MM. I am saying Schottenheimer is nowhere near as good as MM and he is holding the team back.
Why? He refuses to do what it takes to win, so what exactly has he done to make you think he wants to win?

But typically you don't get fired and let go before the end of the year when you're in your first year especially if you're a completely changing schemes turning over the roster especially on the defensive side and then you have a bunch of injuries you have to take into account all those things and let's see what goes on after Week 18 We can reassess and talk about this later let's put it on a bookmark Because right now I promise you no no changes should be made nor will they be made we need to see the full body of work The law of averages work when you play 17 games let's see them all..
I 1000% agree with all of this. Just because Wade Phillips got fired mid season, it doesn't mean Jerry is going to pull the trigger like that all the time just on a whim. Yes, we are going through aches and pains with a new DC. There was no excuse for how Wade was handling the defense when he was our HC. Wade's team just simply gave up on him. What happened with Wade's team is the complete opposite of what is happening this year.

I'm implying that if Jerry wants us to get to the playoffs, he's going to quit hiring coaches that make him feel comfortable and that will get us to post season. And that he'll quit trying to get rid of players that are actually helping the team... AKA Micah (and the like)? I'm implying he still doesn't know what he's doing but we all already know that. I don't think he's doing anything on purpose (in regards to players). I do think he knows what he's doing in regards to worrying more about his comfort than whether coaches can get us to playoffs.
Trading Parsons was the right move. You can usually tell that a player is going to underperform when they are overly preoccupied with money and/or fame. With Parsons there was both.

I loved the ability. But Parsons needed to “go”.
