Twitter: Cowboys' Official 2017 Schedule

I still think San Antonio is more involved in talks than anyone knows right now. SD owner is disinterested in being Kroenke's beach. My bet is they're looking intently at SA.

San Diego rented office and practice facility space in LA to prepare for the move so your bet would be wrong. It's either LA or SD for the Chargers at this point, nothing else is being looked at.

"A Chargers spokesman confirmed that team officials agreed to lease 100,000 square feet of office space in a building near the 405 Freeway known as The Hive, and are seeking municipal permits to develop their headquarters and practice area."

A lot can change but that schedule looks rough.

One thing is for sure, they won't be surprised by any defenses come playoff time.
Typically divisions take turns being tough. Right now the AFC West looks tough, but next year Denver will have a new coach and no QB, the Raiders and Chiefs could have issues and take a step back - Oakland in particular overachieved this year imo.

Meanwhile, AZ and LA will have the same issues they had this year, no QB, while SF still lacks a lot of talent on their roster.

Having said all this, our schedule could be the toughest in the NFL, but its certainly no guarantee.

I would expect them to finish better than 3-3 in the division though.

San Antonio is not even close to be in the conversation of where the chargers could end up. That's the Dumbest thing I've read all day.

So, I take it that you disagree that there are cities in active discussion with Spanos that we're only going to learn about after the fact.

All I have for you is one word: Touche'.

Yes, I was aware of that. However, all they've actually done, if you read this more detailed story from ESPN...

http://www.espn.com/blog/san-diego-...d-home-for-temporary-practice-facility-in-l-a

...is to acquire an option on renting temporary facilities if they decide to move.

That's completely to be expected. I'm not saying that they absolutely will not under any circumstances end up in LA. I'm also not saying that I have any insider intel on San Antonio specifically.

But I am saying that, it is my strong inclination having read pretty voraciously about this and the Raiders' situations the last year, that Spanos is using LA as leverage to get the best deal possible from wherever he can get it. (Optimally, that would be San Diego, but of course, that's especially looking unlikely at this point.)

Why do you want the chargers in SA so bad? That's the only reason I can think of you keep harping on something you couldn't be more wrong about.

Wow, that schedule is no joke. That will be a battle tested team at the end of next season.

Why is it that when one attempts to look at a situation objectively, and then, offer an opinion--and notably, one that freely acknowledges no insider knowledge--some people get so defensive that they have to read-in to that opinion some nefarious motive, and worse, go on to pretend that they themselves do have insider knowledge. What is it about some people that that's the way they choose to respond.

Interesting.

OK, the chargers are talking about moving to: Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Omaha, Savannah, St. Louis, or little Rock. I'm just being objective, because those are all perfect cities.

You can do the absurd-to-the-extreme thing, mocking my opinion, but the fact remains, all we know is what we read. And you don't have to take my word for it, but yeah, I've read quite a bit. And my opinion is guided by what I've read. I can't speak for yours, but my observation is that you seem so defensive, it wouldn't surprise me if your opinion is more impacted by your gut repulsion of the idea than it is any reading you've done. But I'm careful not to say that that's how it is, because I don't know you... I only know what I've read here.

To buttress my point... I think many of us regard Peter King's MMQB site as one of the more intelligent, coherent places one can find compelling fact and opinion. Here's what recently was said there, in case it might matter to someone reading this vein of the thread...

Having said that, is there any other option being considered? This MMQB writer thinks not. That, in spite of what is written above, and what is now extant about how San Diego feels about Spanos and his franchise (i.e., per the November vote, in particular, though not only that).

While I appreciate those thoughts, I look for something in here that actually qualifies as substance to back up the conclusion.

That is, in essence, he says, "I don't see them looking elsewhere because (a) Spanos has never publicly talked about it, (b) I'm aware of no other city that actually wants the Chargers, and (c) if San Diego isn't panicking over the Chargers leaving for LA, I'm not persuaded that San Diego would react any differently to a threat of the team leaving to anywhere else either."

So, attempting critical thought here... where's the beef?

To "a," so, private discussions never happen? If it were so, we'd know about it now, well ahead of the time that a final decision on LA is to be announced? Really?

Or, to "b," San Antonio doesn't want an NFL team if they have to take the Chargers? That's beneath them? Or, *chuckle*, they don't actually want an NFL team in the first place? Really?

And while I agree with "c," doesn't that just make "a" make more sense in the first place?.... I mean, what's the value in going public about it unless/until something definitive is ready to be announced?

So, again... I make no claims to having more information than anyone else, but I feel my opinion is both well-informed and well-reasoned. That doesn't make it right.

We'll just have to see.

Any NFL schedule is tough. And you never no from one year to the next what teams are going to step up and ones that will regress.

Indeed. Many of the people who get paid to talk about sports told us that the NFC East was going to be the easy division this year.

If it were just a one-off thing, okay, but it seems to happen nearly every season that at least one division is largely panned and under-rated.

Speaks to the fact that it is a young man's game, and every year's draft breathes into the league a deep breath of talent and ambition... exhibit A being your Dallas Cowboys on that front, eh?

HOME: NY Giants, Philadelphia, Washington, Los Angeles, Seattle, Kansas City, San Diego, Green Bay

AWAY: NY Giants, Philadelphia, Washington, Arizona, San Francisco, Denver, Oakland, Atlanta

Already debating on which away game I fly out to. Denver is my first choice (barring weather), I have friends in AZ, and that's always a a home game basically. Atlanta would be cool if that new stadium is going to be open. SF is such an amazing city, but I've already been to Candlestick. Ah, choices.

That must be an error. There is no way GB is coming to play in Dallas. Goodell will change that and make Dallas fly to GB. Lol.

Not sure if you heard, but the 49ers stopped playing in candlestick years ago

Geez that schedule is freaking ridiculous. Its gonna be alot of fun beating all those good teams.

I know, my point is I've already been to a game in SF, even though it was a different stadium. I'm trying to go explore new cities.
