Dallas Cowboys offensive guard Ronald Leary (groin) was able to practice Wednesday, DallasCowboys.com reports.

Rookie La'el Collins did a solid job last week in his absence, but expect Leary to resume his starting duties at left guard in Week 4.

Dallas Cowboys defensive end Jeremy Mincey (concussion) returned to practice Wednesday, DallasCowboys.com reports.

The beat-up Cowboys could use him back after their defense collapsed in the second half of last week's loss to the Falcons. Mincey should return to his starting right defensive end spot barring a setback, but he'll only hold the job for one more week, as Greg Hardy will be serving the final game of his suspension.

If RS liked a player in the draft then that player is great immediately and has no faults.

If he didn't like a player in the draft then that player sucks even when he starts 11 games as a rookie.

I have no issues with Leary. IMO his ceiling his higher but he still has some learning to do. That LG spot will be his, but if Leary is available it will be Leary's spot to lose.

Leary is underrated by most fans. Yes, I think Collins has a higher upside but the team needs the best player right now to play now.

I still think Collins could be straight up better than Free at RT if given a chance.

Leary is way better at Guard than Free is at Tackle. Even when Collins gets experience, the improvement over Leary won't be drastic. Replacing Free on the other hand...

Collins would be an upgrade over Free and that would put our best 5 OL on the field IMO.

The run blocking would be instantly upgraded if they put Collins at RT this week even with no practice. He might need a week of practice before his pass blocking was better than Free at RT. :)

Collins benefits with any game time reps.

And I think the two skill sets aren't even remotely close. Collins is a blue chip talent and the Cowboys need to keep him on the field. He's every bit the quality of the big 3 on that line. Leary is not. Not on his best day.

If a linemen gets taken off the field to make room for Collins it should be Free. Collins benefits from every snap and so do we.

We have never seen Collins play tackle
The staff feels like he is a better guard, at least right now
Will Collins plat tackle in the future? Maybe, but my guess he is the future replacement for Leary at guard

Anytime on the field for Collins only helps him and us. The staff likes Leary more than Collins at the LG spot right now. Sliding him to OT wouldn't hurt much since it places you best 5 OL on the field.

Rarely does an interior linemen step onto a NFL field and be solid in pass blocking. Even in the run game they have a lot to learn. People here are expecting a player to go from tackle in college ball to starting on a pretty damn good NFL line at G. That's asking a lot.

Clearly he has talent. But it's either the height of arrogance to pretend to know better than career coaches, stupidity and vanity, and/or an agenda to think the average fan actually knows better.
