Boy that was a pathetic effort yesterday of the OL trying to protect Bledsoe and run block for Julius Jones. I think it is time for a total revamping of the OL starting with the cutting of Larry Allen and Gurode and Al Johnson this offseason. This is getting old. I look at other teams like the Colts who pass way more than the Cowboys and Manning is almost never touched. ( 8 total sacks this season). That first round pick for the Boys has immmediately gone from WR or LB to OT, C, or G. This is a shame. I see the theme continuing for the rest of the season and the Boys ending up missing the playoff with a 8-8 or 9-7 record.

Hate to say this-but us missing the playoffs(and the Giants winning the NFC East) will probably be a GOOD thing.

We can focus heavier on the OL issues in the offseason(we're only a couple of players away in this area), and the Gints will likely get their ***** kicked(due to their poor OL play too) in the post-season.

Maybe things were meant to be.

The loss of Flo was the season IMO.....I did not think it would cost is a playoff spot, but it may very well. Look at the teams that will be in the playoffs for sure and most have very strong DE's...will kill us.

I've said it MANY times....Top OT this year (1st pic) and move Flo to the right side and make Pettiti swing OT...not sure about Columbo...may be in the mix...if so gravy.

ya the loss of flozell is really killing us. we may have to draft two OT's high just in case Flozell is out again, this is really pathetic. we could use 5 OL in this draft honestly and I wouldnt complain.

I really really hope two of our first three pics are oline...I do! Games are won and lost in the trenches...we are losing the trench war with the oline.

Peterman was made active for the first time in his career yesterday...says all I need to know about him.

two out of three is fine with me. tackle + tackle, tackle + guard, tackle + center.

Normally I wouldn't want to see us take OL with our first couple of picks, however now...I think the time is here to take them with our early picks. I may be overlooking someone, but the last time I can remember us taking an OL with our first pick was Howard Richards out of Missouri, and that was a long time ago. If there is an OL out there who is worthy of a first round pick when we're on the clock, I say take him without hesitation. Last year Parcells focused on our defense, this year he needs to focus on the offense in the early stages of the draft, and free agency as well.

This draft is supposed to be loaded with top tier OL prospects. I already know that the Boys cannot go into the 2006 season with this mess of an OL so I am already in Draft review status!!!!!!!!

For starts we must seriously upgrade our OL asap.
1) Allen (turns 35 Nov06) & Riveria (turns 34 Apr06) so we must use 1st round pick on Max Jean Gilles who should be available around when we pick, or
2) Pettiti should be OK next year w/ 1 yr experience under his belt & offseason weight conditioning program to increase his strength/endurance. If OT Marc Colombo (drafted by Bears 1st rd 2002 & started first 6 games as rookie but seriously injuried knee in 7th game is able to come back (big question), that's gravy if he at least solid OT backup & fantastic if he could really challenge to start. Parcells will know at least by draft how this plays out. Tucker is good backup but not starter & if Adams (knee or ankle injury??) not ready until ca. Aug??) we gotta draft a stud OT in this draft which supposedly full of quality OTs. Don't forget Adams turns 31 Mayo6. So either OG Gilles or OT in first round. Don't think we can afford sign FA OG cause we've spent too much money on Allen/Riveria to kick either off team w/o taking cap hit.
3) Hopefully there a few quality Centers available in FA who better then what we have so we have to sign the best out there (but he must be better then what we have). We can't afford draft a center who might take too long to develop given Bledsoe's age, etc. BTW: Undrafted C Matt Truillo is on PS; he's got the size at 6-5, 315. Anybody know anything about him? 2005 draft listed him near bottom of top 300 players in the country. He's probably not much but Parcells put him on PS & hasn't cut him unlike some of other players on PS.

So I think we have to use our first day picks on OL/OL/WR in whatever order but they got to be as sure fire as possible. Our problem is we took Rogers in 2004 2nd round & Peterman in 3rd round & Rogers is bust with Peterman still considered rookie since first year was spent on IR. Hopefully the new guy who heads scouting for us replacing Lacewell did lot better job in 05 then we've had in long time. I'm hoping he and his staff up to the job to do same thing on O as he did in 05 on D.

Finally, I know we all want to get a young QB who can become franchise QB. If we can sign a good young WR in FA, maybe we can use 1 of top 3 picks to select a good young QB.
