Here are the measureables for the Cowboys OLBs.

They are sorted by 3-cone, short shuttle, 10-yard time, height, and weight.

I highlighted Alex Albright because he is one of my pet cats. You'll notice that Albright is top 3 in all of the above categories.

IMO, Butler, Wilber and Hamilton all project best to WOLB; whereas, Albright has the prototype size for the SOLB spot.

Albright also has the versatility to play ILB. He practiced at ILB last preseason and yesterday in the 1st pre training camp workout. He was very good on Special Teams last year.

Wilber has the frame to get bigger, but right now he is 18 lbs under Spencer.

Yup, I like Alex Albright a lot. I think he's going to get more playing time this year, and when Spencer and Butler depart next year via free agency, Albright and Wilbur are going to be fighting for the starting job opposite D-Ware. If they can find a way to hang on to Hamilton this year, he may be the 4th OLB on the roster next year to come in for pass rush downs, much the way Butler is doing now.

I'm glad you put that up. Someone else put some info up like this awhile back and Albright didn't get his fair share of press IMO. I had no idea he was that quick. I will say he didn't look it on the field but that could have been hesitancy rather than lack of athleticism. Obviously he's an fair dinkem athlete. I don't care where Spencer's backup/replacement comes from.

We for sure need lb work!! I cant believe everybodies only talking about secondary n o line n d line. Our linebackers besides lee n ware need to step up! Lee n ware cant play every down.

Yep. The fact that both Spencer and Butler are FAs at the end of the year is significant. This is the reason that I'm predicting the Cowboys to go long at the OLB spot on the final roster.

Yup, I'm expecting the same thing. The one thing I'm not sure about is just how long that will be. I've got them at 9 LBs right now, and they'll be hard-pressed to keep 10. Unless there's an injury or he really blows it up through camp, I think they may have to take their chances with putting Hamilton on the practice squad. If he shows up big-time, though, they're going to have some hard choices to make.

Guys, I'm a linebacker by my past...but it all boils down to what it is. Here or the defensiver line, depends on what they do in camp. Hey, but it makes for some great fan times.
