If we are going to run the Wildcat, I would rather let Stanback handle that duty instead of drafting specifically for that formation.

Yeah, he's already on the roster for a lot less than what it would cost.

Everyone needs to understand that you should take everything Mel Kiper says with no grains of salt, haha. Todd McShay is a bit more reliable.

It's not going to happen, either way.

This is just too hard for my brain to do with no first round pick. I can't begin to guess who will be there when we draft. So I'll just throw out the names of the guys I would be interested in: Delmas, Robinson, Moore, Rashad Johnson, Robiskie, Ziggy Hood,

(I value seniors, high motors and hard workers, and production a lot more than measureables and potential)

In order of preference...

1...Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma
2...Sean Smith, S, Utah
3...Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina

Curious... do you like Smith over Delmas? Or do you think Delmas just isn't going to be there?

Or Crayton. He has the strongest arm on the team, according to reports. You wouldn't have to change your personnel if you're running out your 3 wide set, you'd just shift Crayton into the backfield.

Dilfer was spot on with his assessment of the middle of our defense. We need more athleticism at ILB and safety.

We need more playmaking at ILB and safety. Playmaking is not the same as athleticism.

But I agree. Maualuga would probably be the more helpful player we could draft on defense.

This.

...if we were to bother with the Wildcat. I just don't see it happening. Teams are going to prepare for it more now, and I doubt it will be as effective as last year.

Actually, I've read that Stanback has the strongest arm. The problem is he's not very accurate.

Of course the reason why Kiper is even on this craziness is Jerry sprouting off about it. I don't want Pat White in ANY round, much less the second, but because Jerry is Jerry I fear that they'll take him and high.

I agree, he took Q that high, he may do this also.

Ah. You might be right. I might have read that before we got Stanback.

I know I wouldn't actually do it, but I'd mad enough to call it a weekend if we picked him.

Crayton was always considered to have a strong arm. Prior to Stanback, Crayton did have the strongest arm of the non-QBs.

If I'm going to sit and watch six hours of the draft before the Cowboys pick (and I do watch the entire draft), I may just turn it off for a few hours to get over the stench of a Pat White pick. He's strictly a 4th rounder or below.

The fact that NE has 3 picks before we have our first could be the one thing that's saves Jerry from himself
