And I expect them to try to get out of two or three of those contracts!

They hit BIG at the top of the 2020-22 drafts, but the rest have been mostly big whiffs
OK there has only been 2 drafts since then. The '23 draft isn't looking so good but the '24 is.

Should have only been 5. But Senile Jerry was only all in on one thing the entire off-season.

Yeah, once you have regular season success you draft later, and those players cannot always be counted on for immediate impact or to not bust entirely. Other teams eventually take players you can’t afford to keep.

This is why I constantly moan about windows within which to win and their inability to recognize that.

They think so much of themselves that they think they can win a swim race against the natural flow and always be a contender by not taking the shot to get over the top. Let’s hope they learn but seems doubtful.

Welcome to low budget veterans and expect home field loyalty to stay alive. Oh, splurge a $4 million.

We started drafting for need vs best player available. That is what happens when you don't fill needs in Free Agency.

We shall see, any thoughts to trade down a bit????
Yes please!! They need to deal down and acquire future firsts, then deal down more from there and stockpile picks in order to create another window similar to the one they just blew. Two years away if lucky.

Either that or figure out how to find the money to participate in free agency.

They currently operate as if every top draft pick will make an immediate impact.

That exemplifies the arrogance more than anything…many teams bust first rounders, especially late ones. They don’t see it that way. They think they are outsmarting everyone, and would clearly rather risk having an inferior roster than “overpay” for a free agent.

Cutting guys like Steele, Wilson, and Hooker.

It will cost, but it’s not impossible.

The top 3?

I’d bet that they’re locked in to all 3.

It’s what the Jones boys do.
We should gain positive cap from cutting all 3. The savings is greater than and worth the dead cap
