1a.) Mike Jenkins, CB, South Florida
I really think this guy will fall on draft day. If not I can see Aquib Talib falling to us, and either would be great here.
1b.) Jonathan Stewart, RB, Oregon
Seattle is the key as to weather he's available. If they pass on Stewart, then Julius Jones should be inducted into the cowboys ring of honor
2.) Earl Bennett, WR, Vanderbelt
I would love Mario Manningham, because he reminds me of Terry Glenn, but I think he'll be long gone by our 2nd rounder. Bennett has enough speed to stretch the field and be productive as a rookie.
3.) Red Bryant, NT, Texas A&M
Big NT, who really gives our d-line a lot of versatility. Ratliff would now be able to move from tackle to end because of Bryant.
4.) Vince Hall, ILB, Virginia Tech
I really think Hall is gonna be a steal for someone, but will we carry 5 ILBs? Hopefully we do, I'd rather do that than 6 WRs (assuming TG gets cut) or 5 safties. Hall is a tackling machine and should be a decent special teamer as a rookie atleast.
5.) *Traded for Pac Man Jones*
Probably not a move I'd do, but it's a good gamble with little risk
6.) Drew Miller, OL, Florida
A decent C/G prospect, epecially this late in the draft
7.) Dominique Barber, SS, Minnesota
at this point we just need special teams players, so I picked Barber hoping he has his brother's intensity

I like it but I would rather see us draft a WR in the 1st(Devin Thomas) instead of RB. I think we can pick up Charles/Rice with our 2nd pick

I like the first 3 picks of your draft. If Jenkins is available, I'd be estatic, but I think there's going to be a top CB there no matter what. I'd be tempted to take Stewart at 22, but if he manages to still be around at 28 I'd jump all over him. I like him better than any WR in this class. I'm not sure he'll still be available at either of our picks, because I don't think his surgery is going to drop him much. Bennett's a nice guy in round 2.

I don't think we really need a NT. Ratliff's done a nice job there, and Tank gives us decent depth. I'd like to see another CB/S type there if we don't end up with Pacman.

We currently have 5 I.L.B.'s and will only keep 4, Ayodelle will probably be cut because of it, so there's no more room on our roster for an I.L.B., would be a complete waste of a draft pick to draft an I.L.B.!

Why not move Adin to OLB to back up Ware since he was a OLB in the NFL and a DE in College. One more pass rusher to add to the mix

Cause of the cap I guess, and the fact he's really not a good pass rusher, he might of been in college, but he's not in the pro's.
We're paying him starter money, so he needs to go because of that.

Not sure he'd be a big cap hit, it's not like we gave him a monster signing bonus, could possibly even save money (just a guess) by cutting him, who knows.

3/12/2006: Signed a five-year, $17.5 million contract. The deal included a $5 million signing bonus. 2008: $2.5 million, 2009: $2.75 million, 2010: $3.25 million, 2011: Free Agent
So about a 3 mil hit if we cut him since he's only two years into his contract, while it would cost us about 2.5 mil in escalated cap this year to keep him and have him in case of emergency. Not sure it makes sense to cut him.

Does that sound about right, not exactly a cap scientist.

The only plus is that after we cut him, and took the cap hit, we wouldn't have to pay him the remaining 6 million on the contract.

Not sure on the cap figure, but we got Carpenter AND Burnett as backups, don't really see the point in keeping Ayodelle on the roster since he probably won't be activated on game days since we don't need THREE backup I.L.B.'s on game day and Burnett and Carpenter are better special teams players.
Plus we could cut him after June 1st which would split the cap hit over 2 years.
But again, have to ask AdamJT to know the exact hit, but I'd be shocked if he's on our roster opening day.
