“We do have to look to the future relative to quarterback,” Jones said. “It’s starting a timeframe where a guy could come in and be a good backup.”

“Look at how Romo evolved into the guy he is today,” he said. “He did a little time with the clipboard.”

Jones said one of his primary focuses in this year’s draft is to find true value after the marquee rounds have finished.

“I think to really focus on lower rounds. We should really evaluate those lower rounds,” he said. We should feel good and I expect us to feel good about the third, fourth and fifth round picks.”

Music to my ears... If they feel a QB is worth drafting... Fill out the card and hand it to the Commish.

I still don't think its quite time to pick a quarterback. Outside of the 1st round, they just don't tend to pan out. This team is close to a championship and they should pick players who fill needs and can contribute as quickly as possible.

I hope Jerry doesn't think he can draft some late round pick or journeyman and let him learn behind Romo for a few seasons. Guys like Romo and Kurt Warner are major outliers.

Dallas really needs to start looking for Romo's replacement, it's probably a late round pick this draft, if not, next year early in the draft...

wouldn't surprise me if we grab someone late in the rounds

TE in the 2nd. Long snapper in the 3rd. Kicker in the 4th.

These days the more Stephen speaks... The more I like what I hear.
