Signed by Cowboys Cowboys - Osa Odighizuwa agree to terms

as a rotational piece it is a good signing; too much money but it is what it is
now I hope our idiot Front Office still gets us two more quality DL one way or another
and one of them better be a true NT

This, hopefully they want stop here and think the problem is fixed.

Williams wasn't 100 percent healthy this season. He is solid player with a big upside. Watch him against Texas.
Yeah, heard he had an ankle issue. Watched Texas game a bit and Williams did well vs Banks. Upside is a scary word for me in the 1st round, I like to hear production, but I get it. Thanks, I'll rewatch that game.

We have successfully brought back the same DT tandem that gets bullied every week.

Cowboys!
Correction:

We've successfully brought back the same DT tandem that got bullied every week, AND paid them WAY more money to get bullied every week.

THAT.....takes talent.

Well done Jeruh.

Why pay 2 crappy DTs a little money, when you can pay 2 crappy DTs a LOT of money?

He was ranked by NFL.com as the 7th best free agent available in the off season.
Thats a measure of guys who were projected to be out of contract. Most of the top tier players get re-signed or extended well before their deal is up and they land in this poll. Wait until the cap casualties kick in.

We play in a division with Saquon Barkley. We need DT's who can play the run.

With Washington taking half your DL last year(then making the playoffs) you really had little choice here.
You cannot rebuild a Dl through a draft in any one season and you can't fully count on the guys you drafted there recently. -injury/performance

PFF had Osa ranked the 15th best player to hit free agency and the top DT available if not signed/tagged.

This is a 3-year 58M deal. That is good business.
I agree. But to be devils advocate about building a DL in one season, 2005 says" hold my beer". Lol.

I can’t believe people think otherwise. The cap is shooting up and fans need to recalibrate on these numbers a bit. DT is a premium position. Osa is a good player and he is only 26. I bet he has his best years during this deal. The team is paper thin at DL. It’s a good deal.
Osa is fine, but w/ Jerry, per norm, he now leaves the position to rot. What he's always done.

One thing we can credit the Jones bunch with at least is having some urgency finally. Meaning they didn't wait for friggin leaves to fall before getting these deals done. So now we've gotten Juanyeh,Hoffman, Goodwin, and already restructured CD and it just seems like there's actually a working plan that involves free agency. The tone seems to be like we are trying to get this stuff wrapped up before legal tampering on March 10. I bet we restructure Dak before then. Wouldn't be shocked if Jlew gets done by Friday. These guys are foundational. They don't seem that important but they are. That's my coffee fueled 2 cents this morning.

You mean the same Saquon Barkley who made it until the end of his deal and left NY? Great players aren't always extended early. Guys play out their contracts all the time.

Stop with the cap casualty nonsense. We are the only team in the league who is always broke. Wake up man.

Osa is what he is. Better to have him signed than have a huge unknown next to Mazi
Yup.......I'm not sure what choice we had with this deal.

When so many players on this roster are average to below average, sometimes guys that have a pff in the 60s get paid as if they have a pff in the 80s

Yep. Free agency is always buyer beware, but there are game changing players available every year. Barkley helped put Philly over the top. I doubt Minnesota is mad Jonathan Greenard hit FA. Washington turned into a pretty respectful team taking advantage of 2nd wave guys in free agency. Two years ago Denver is loving that they swooped in on Zach Allen, I'm sure Atlanta loved getting one of the best Safetys in football in Jesse Bates in FA.

Wonder if saquon goes back to the player he was with the giants

And I would be all for that approach this year. Draft a first- or second-round DT and take two more before the draft is over. We got Spears in the first round, Canty in the fourth and Ratliff in the seventh that year. On top of that, our first pick was Ware, but we were switching to the 3-4, so it was necessary for Parcells to get the personnel he wanted for that change.

Not sure what you mean here. Jerry is terrible for sure. The 3T on the DL? I don’t think so. You need to have a few interior defenders and I see Osa as just one. Frankly I would beef up with a large 3T for run downs and move Osa inside and out. I am addicted to draft simulators and keep picking Harmon in the first round after a trade down.
