The Cowboys have 9 sacks in the last 4 games.

3 sacks against Washington
1 sack against Carolina
3 sacks against Miami
2 sacks against Tampa

That is a pace of 2.25 sacks per game or 27 sacks over the course of this season so far (as opposed to the 23 we have). That would put us 20th in the league.

They're improving, but they still need to get a lot more production out of this line.

The Linebackers have 5 of the teams sacks... The defensive line only has 18 sacks in 12 games...

They just aren't getting home enough. Is there more to pressure than sacks? Asbolutely, and they have been getting some decent pressure at times, but sacks also kill drives and in key situations we haven't been able to turn the jets on when we needed them.

What I see as a big key in this game is actually getting up to an early lead against Green Bay. Outside of that, this is going to be a very difficult game to win in Lambeau.

Will still be nice seeing Rodgers go down in the soft field today, as opposed to the frozen tundra...though that would have been nice to see too...

Any time seeing Rodgers on the ground with a Cowboy defender the reason for it is a good time.

You look at dominant defensive lines across the league for example, and you'll see a lot of them have all 1st or 2nd rounders.

Greg Hardy has never had a 20 sack season, but I think we fan elevated him to that 20 sack level because that's what we wanted. He had a 15 sack season and an 11 sack season. Let's merge those together and divide by 31 (number of games he played those seasons). You get 0.838709677 (which is his sack rate when playing as he has in the past).

He has played in 8 games this year, so we multiply that by 8. You get 6.7. Right now he has 4.5 and he had a long layoff and is also in a new system. Probably not terribly off the mark.

Tyrone Crawford has broken his career high for sacks with 4 this year (previously 3). Not sure why we elevated him so much and paid him like we did. Probably a mistake in hindsight. Hopefully he continues to improve. He's tied as the 7th highest paid defensive tackle in the league...

Demarcus Lawrence is actually pretty close to getting double digit sacks. He has 5 with 4 games to go. Probably won't reach it, but he could come close. Actually not terrible production out of him.

We get nothing out of Hayden, which makes it puzzling why he is here.

We were all so bullish on this defensive line, but maybe that was homerism.

Mincey held out and has 0 sacks this year, but Randy Gregory can't get any playing time? Mincey needs to be gone gone gone next year and we need a much better replacement for Hayden. You probably look to cut Crawford in 2017 if he hasn't improved.

Marinelli's defense requires a true DT to get pressure, outside of David Irving(who nees to be starting asap) this team doesn't have one. For some reason Rod has a crush on Hayden and keeps him in, but anyone with eyes can see that this D-Line looks better whenever Irving takes his place. The reason they looked like world beaters against Washington was because Marinelli finally abandoned his philosophy and blitzed constantly.

Opposing QB has a pocket to step into because middle of D Line isnt collapsing it.

Sacks also lead to turnovers creating obvious downfield passing situations
