Cowboys pleased with Trevon Diggs’ rehab this time after previous frustrations

I haven't seen anything credible that suggests the team wants him gone. I do think it will be a product of the team wanting to re-sign Bland, kind of like what happened to Cooper. If Revel steps up as a rookie and Diggs is slow getting back, then it would make some sense (and dollars) to try to get out of Diggs' contract since they will be paying big money to Bland.

Of course, there's a lot of time to play out before then. Diggs could get back faster than expected and have a great season. Bland could have a down season, or players who might could replace Diggs may not play well.

I know he's a whipping boy around here, but it will be interesting to see how it plays out. He was playing pretty decently before his reinjury. Of course, QBs were mainly choosing to throw at easier targets with Bland out.

So he comes back and has an all pro season, then what??
We could always restructure him and turn most of his $14.5 million base to bonus.

He's set to make $18 million next year, but if you push $10 million into the next two years, $8 million is not bad.

Of course, that would push his $23 million salary to $28 million the next year, but we could cut him then at a dead cap hit of $13 million.

So the question they will have to ask is if a $13 million hit is worth it for another year of an All-Pro instead of getting out of the deal next year for a $6 million dead cap hit.
