#Cowboys QB Tony Romo: "I feel good. I should be 100 percent this week, I think, for this game."
Jason Garrett said Philip Rivers' best trait is his competitiveness. "He's one of the great competitors in this league."
Jason Garrett said Miles Austin (hamstring) is still day-to-day.
Jason Garrett said #Cowboys haven't determined as of Thursday morning if Brian Waters will start Sunday.
As usual, Jason Garrett starts practice by asking for a little bounce in his players' steps. "Little bounce, little bounce, little bounce!"

Cowboys in receiver-db 1 on 1s. Beas just destroyed Webb in slot. 'See you later,' a coach said. Sounded like Garrett.
Beas can't shake Scandrick though. Romo no window but throws anyway to back line, Beas stops, catches with trailing arm, falls oob, feet in.
Good session for Scandrick.
And Dez of course. And Witten of course.

Here is the one thing I do NOT like about Garrett....how often he is WAY OFF BASE when it comes to injuries....Personally, I don't care if Miles plays or does not play this week...if he can't go...then it is "next man up". But why did Garrett say AFTER the game, that "Miles could have gone back in if we wanted him to"?

Because he gets the info from team trainers? Miles was on stationary bike keeping it loose in case he needed to go back in but given the lead there was no need to do that.

i think Harris will play. Austin is probably doubtful.

Bryant will either effectively have a big game or at least draw double-coverage. The key is whether TWill can step up and be a consistent target.

If both are out, it obviously hurts, but we're pretty lucky to have options in Williams and Beasley if we're digging down to our 5th spot in that position group. Plus, we'll have 2 and 3 TE sets to use, and can throw the ball out of the backfield to both Murray and Dunbar. I think Beasley in the slot and Dunbar in the backfield on third downs, believe it or not, is a matchup problem for many defenses. Teams were rolling coverages to Beasley in third down situations late last year, of all things. That gives you some options if you can get legitimate pressure on the defense with Williams on the outside. The team's been high on him from practice. This week might be the week he needs to step up and demand some attention.

Fortunately, the Chargers are really challenged defensively. We should have options, even if Austin doesn't play.

If Romo has time we'll be fine regardless of who trots out at receiver.

Why do you care how forthright JG is about injury situations? I know it can be frustrating for a fan, but him being completely honest about the extent of an injury provides no competitive advantage.

Not necessarily. He had time vs. the chiefs and we couldn't move the ball much. Granted they have an incredible secondary but still the point holds true. Now against SD maybe having time will correlate to passing success.

He was fine against KC too he just didn't take advantage of his matchups.

Rivers is a great competitor indeed, but he is also an INT machine, a-la Eli Manning, he however has only thrown 1 INT in the entire season so far, I would assume our defense along with our fantastic coaching staff will be looking at film from last year's games and try to create as many turnovers as possible so we can give the offense scoring opportunities throughout the ball game.

Look for the Cowboys to kick the ball first and put the pressure on San Diego's offense early in the game, not to mention receive possession in the second half first.

I really don't understand why everyone makes such a big deal of these injury situations. It's as if some people take it personal and Caoch Garret lied to them.

Exactly. Teams often downplay the severerity of an injury, or how long they'll be out. Let's say they feel Austin could be out for for weeks. We play Denver week after this. Wouldn't you want Denver thinking they have to prepare for Austin, not knowing for sure if he'll play or not, or would you like them to be able to concentrate on stopping other parts of our offense, being certain he was already out?

Some here act like they don't know what they're doing. In reality, they know exactly what they're doing, but we don't, and it drives us nuts. They're not obligated with us.

Weddle hasn't been having a good year. He got smoked against Desean Jackson several times against the Eagles.
