Cowboys Predicted to Cut Ties With Former Highly Touted Quarterback

The Dallas Cowboys made a significant move this offseason to have some insurance behind Dak Prescott heading into 2025. Prescott is coming off a season-ending hamstring injury, and the Cowboys struck a trade with the New England Patriots for Joe Milton.

The deal puts Will Grier’s future in doubt as the veteran battles Milton for the backup quarterback gig. It remains to be seen if Dallas will keep three quarterbacks as the team finalizes their 53-man roster ahead of Week 1. USA Today’s Ben Grimaldi projects Milton will win the QB2 role and predicts the team will cut Grier.

I know it’s the offseason, but jeez enough of these “rumors” from hack sites and people who are doing nothing but trying to get clicks.

They are going by him being a 3rd round pick in 2019.


I think he goes to the practice squad as the 3rd QB. No need to waste a roster spot on him.

Swapping end of draft picks for a scrub QB is a “significant move”?

If there’s an actual QB competition, Milton couldn’t beat out Grier or any other scrub they brought in.

As a viewer of YouTube I have learned that 70% of alarmist titles on videos and blogs are fake. "Harry Leaves Meghan!" "We are going to War!" "Dakota Is Going to the Steelers!"
Best thing is to stick to "reputable" sites.
 
...I'll be the contrarian here. But I've always thought Grier was pretty good. Has poise, pretty good arm, mobile and pocket awareness.

How Rush beat him out, was head scratcher. But I'm no coach, just basic observation.
