I dunno guys.

Ware sounded kinda pissed on the radio yesterday during the draft when asked about a new contract.

We might have to franchise him to keep him.

Yah well, you don't sell tickets in such a bad economy by letting your best player and 1 of the top 5 players in this league go because you can't sign him. Especially a player at Ware's age.

This is such a joke. Name me a more dominating defensive player right now? To boot, Ware is selfless, as dependable as anyone in this league at any given time and circumstance.

Ware is getting his contract. He still has a year on his contract. So we still have a full season to make it work.

How much would releasing Ellis save us on cap space? I want to say it is a significant amount (i.e $3M+) that we could use to help resign Ware.

Why else would they be taking so many OLBs?

Maybe Jerry can't afford him after building his new stadium combined with a weak economy?
I think hoping to find a gem to replace Ellis and/or provide quality depth.

We run a 3-4 defense, in a 3-4 defense you can never have too many LB's. And coming into this draft we had absolutely no depth at LB.

If we ran a 4-3 we'd draft dlinemen every year. In the 3-4 you draft linebackers.

Ware isn't going anywhere. The guys we drafted are to replace Ellis and to provide either competition or depth behind Spencer.

Dude, Ellis is like a thousand years old, as is the FA Brookings. Spencer gets hurt alot. Carpenter is a bust. After that you got nobody on a defense that is built around LB play. Hello...

Yeah, get rid of "The Franchise". That's brilliant.

The only moves left to get that elusive SB ring are to ship off Romo and Barber, and let Wade coach ad-infinitum.....................

In fact, I'd betcha' almost anything that Ware loves playing in Dallas, and would do ANYTHING to play his entire career as a Cowboy! Up to and including restructuring any contract at any time to do so.

Until I hear otherwise from Ware of Jerry, I'm sticking to THAT story......

D. Ware is one of those players you just do not let go.
He is one special talent.

Im glad we got a lot of LBs, you can never have too many in a 3-4.
