The Rams over-achieved their talent last season because of excellent coaching.

This season they've regressed to the mean (you are who you are over time).

The Cowboys this season have struggled despite more talent than many opponents because the Cowboys coaching has been terrible.

Trolls will claim that I'm being anti-Garrett or something like that; however, people with a clue know that I base my opinions on analysis of games, not on girly-man emotions.

Defense and kicking/special teams have been our Achilles heel this year, for the most part. A rookie OC has played a part too. And, of course, the ever meddling owner is always a problem.

The Rams are a lot like we were when Garrett came along. Salary cap top heavy and very little depth. It is a recipe for disaster.

Their coaching staff will keep them competitive.

They probably cut Gurley and take the big hit in 2020.

Dak >>>> Goff

Is A.Donald really that great?

They don’t look like the team that they were last year. They looked well coached last year. This year they seem to be playing Madden or fantasy football.

Donald sure wasn’t much of a factor against us last week. I dont know what to make of that. Is our OL back? Donald not at 100 percent?

Donald was average in the playoff game.

The Rams exposed the Cowboys defense in the playoff game and they've been trying to resolve the scheme weakness since then but with co-D-Coordinators that is difficult. The Colts first found the scheme weakness but the Rams shined a big spotlight on it.

The coaching on offense was the top complaint all of the 2018 season.

It seemed we actually schemed to neutralize Donald. He did have plays where he got in the backfield quickly, but wasn't a factor.

the rams had talent. as much talent as anybody else in the league, so lets not make it as if McVay made filet out of a pile of shiet…..they also made a bunch of trades to add talent where they lacked. the league has caught up with McVay and Goff has regressed.

we have talent, but there are 10 other teams in the league with similar talent. we the fans tend to over rate our own talent...

with that said, our coaching needs improvement and its time for garrett to go...

This is, by and large, very true.

But I think you're understating the talent that the Rams had last year. They lost three starters, I think, on the OL and Suh and Joyner on defense. Those are all really big losses. Plus, age really caught up to Whitworth and Talib, and Cooks doesn't look to be the same player, for whatever reason. So while I do think they might have overachieved a little bit on offense last year, because of the newness of that offensive scheme, they were still one of the most talented teams in the league last year. That edge is pretty much gone, with what they lost and failed to replace.

I think they lost more talent then they gained in the off season in key areas of the offense and defense.

Not anymore, if one were to judge based solely on Sunday's performance.

average but they have so much money allocated with BIG name FA pickups , thought thats was the key, max cap out for short run to sb and then start over..meh..not sure how they have less talent they have have Ramsey and Donald on defense and guys like Cook, Kupp, Gurley and Goff seems pretty even if not an advantage in every area but Oline and wash at RB?didnt they draft Rapp isnt that who we wanted? they have names at LB? to me thats enough big names that special coaching doing the cooking, they should be 11-3 so?

most of our issues are less about coaching and more about professional players forgetting how to block, tackle and stop committing untimely penalty's.. they come into the league as the best of the best and those are base traits of a good football player..

coaches team scheme and show you how to best use their schemes to beat other teams etc etc put player sin the best spots to succeed but they dont spend practices reteaching a Pro to block, tackle, and not commit penalties.. they can point it out like say hey protect the ball , get throws off it quicker etc but if they dont know this already , its about effort and accountability. Thats on the players..

sure our coaches have had a few games where they could have called better play etc or came in more prepared but our biggest issue have been mistakes and lack of execution that got us to 7-7 most of the game we lost like 5 were by less then 4 points, thats one or two less negative plays flips those to wins..

I think the Rams talent is better than the Cowboys. Meaning I believe they have more talent in numbers across the board than we do. Sure, we have talent. But we don’t have Aaron Donald, Jalen Ramsey, Peters, Weddle, et cetera, Wade Phillips. That defense was built and spent on to be special. Their offense is pretty dang stout too.

We just, for once, had a plan and executed on both sides of the ball.

We have a better QB, RB and Offensive line and even at those positions we aren't that far ahead of them. Name one other position where we are hands down better then the Rams. I'd argue they have better DB's and DL.

Ram's future does not look bright. They are forced to pay Ramsey top dollar at CB, probably $17M per year. And they will not have a 1st round pick for 2 years. They have to eat a lot of dead money when they cut Gurley. And they paid Goff $30+ and he stinks.

You can make an argument that they have more talent on defense, I guess (Peters is gone). But it's not even close on the offensive side of the ball. Their OL is average at best.

I see your point. No doubt. But they are pretty stout on offense. They still have a formidable O-line. Goff has been off some, but he’s still a good QB when not injured. They have Gurley and a comparable WR corps and TEs they incorporate better than we do.

Not too mention a HC who calls plays who just went to the Super Bowl after they destroyed us in the divisional round last year.
