The Patriots claimed the Lombardi Trophy after defeating the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX, but they don't have the top spot in our offseason hierarchy.

Yes, in what some might consider a surprising outcome, the Seahawks are No. 1 -- just as they were in the final rankings of 2014. Seattle, given an A-minus grade by Mel Kiper

for its work in the 2015 draft, received seven fewer first-place votes than New England but registered a higher overall point total.

New England finished second, followed by the Packers, Broncos and Colts.

As for the rest of the field, ESPN's power panel (a group of more than 80 writers, editors and TV personalities) apparently liked the offseason work of the Dolphins and Ravens -- who each jumped four spots -- the most. The Chargers, Colts and Falcons each rose three spots.

If the Titans and Buccaneers are on the rise, our voters aren't yet on board. Despite landing potential franchise quarterbacks early in the draft, Tampa Bay and Tennessee remain at the bottom.

Last Week: 1Are three straight Super Bowls possible while not making a first-round pick in each of those years? We'll find out with the Seahawks this season.
2

Patriots

12-4
--

Last Week: 2The Patriots used the draft to bulk up the offensive and defensive lines, drafting six linemen in the first five rounds. The average weight of the Patriots' first seven picks was 276 pounds.
3

Packers

12-4
--

Last Week: 3The Packers have used eight of their 10 first-round picks on defense since drafting Aaron Rodgers. The Packers haven't ranked higher than 13th in opponent PPG since winning the Super Bowl after the 2010 season.
4

Broncos

12-4
--

Last Week: 4The Broncos grabbed DE Shane Ray to rush the passer along with Von Miller and DeMarcus Ware. The Broncos' pass rush ranked fourth in generating pressure last season.
5

Colts

11-5

Last Week: 8Miami Colts? Andrew Luck will be surrounded with Hurricanes in 2015. The Colts drafted Miami WR Phillip Dorsett after adding Frank Gore and Andre Johnson this offseason.

Cowboys

12-4

Last Week: 5The Cowboys rushed more than any other team last season, but didn't draft a RB to replace DeMarco Murray. That leaves Darren McFadden, who has one 16-game season in his career, as the lead back.

Im ok with 6th, sounds about right. Ofcourse if we go for a player I've been advocating for I dont see how we would be anything other then first

The word is that if we landed Peterson Vegas would bump Us up to being the odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl.

We are better than the Colts. Andrew Luck is great, but we saw what he did against the Cowboys and Pats. Don't know that they improved that defense very much.

Yeah that one makes no sense.

Don't even pay attention to those to be honest but I will say this, using Shane Ray as a good reason for the Broncos to be ranked 5th, does anybody find that ********? He has a weed problem and he's already in the drug rehab program in the NFL. He's going to a state/city where weed is legal and they smoke it on the street everywhere you go.

Regardless of what you think about the issue, the NFL does not allow it and they test for it. That, to me, is a suspension or two waiting to happen. JMO

I don't think the Packers or Colts improved much this offseason. In fact I didn't particularly like either of their drafts. The Broncos are older and have some questions on OL now. The Patriots could also be a lesser team after losing 3 of their top CBs now. At worst I think the Cowboys should be 4th and as high as 3rd. Of all of the top 6 teams, I don't think it can be argued that the Cowboys improved the most over all 6 on paper.

Broncos got worse, Colts have no defense, Patriots lost their secondary, middle of Packers defense is weak. Like many have said, we are one runningback away from being the favorites.

I am no McFadden apologist but stating that he has one 16 game season in his career is interesting. Especially since coming into last season, the same could have been said about Murray. Now Dallas is to be ridiculed for letting a back with an injury history walk in free agency and for having a back with an injury history as a possible lead back.

I'm confused.
