Tashard Choice - Glad he was there, and I’m looking forward to working with him. He’s a good pass protector. Played in Chan’s offense, which was more of a pro offense than most college offenses so he’s well prepared for the Pros. A lot of these college kids don’t know anything about blocking. I think he’s a very good pass receiver. He understands how to run routes. He played against good competiton. He had a very good game against Miami. He picked up blitzes by safeties and linebackers.

Choice is a #3 back who could carry the ball 20 times a game if we needed him to. He carried the load in college. It’s rare to have that in a 3rd guy.

When they call the position in the War Room as an assistant coach, they want to ask your opinion on a player. You give your evaluation and how you think they will fit in the team. We lost a couple of RB’s with Julius and Tyson Thompson, so we knew we had two spots to fill somehow. Choice is capable of carrying 20-25 times. He and Felix have two drastic difference in styles. Choice is more steady, downhill physical guy. Felix is a slashing, big play guy.

Choice played special teams in Georgia Tech. He can contribute that here.

Hopefully they put his phone call up on the official website. He and his family were going nuts when he found out it was the Cowboys.
