Signed by Cowboys Cowboys re-sign S Markquese Bell

FRISCO, Texas — There will be no waiting period for Markquese Bell to learn of his future with the Dallas Cowboys, the restricted free agent eluding the open market entirely by agreeing to terms to remain with the club on a three-year deal worth upwards of $12 million per year.

In signing him to a multi-year deal, the Cowboys lessened the cap hit for 2025 from what it might've been with a second-round tender, for example, which would have come in at $3.26 million by way of the Right of First Refusal. Although the average annual salary on the new deal is $4 million, the key word there is "average", because the contract will include a prorated signing bonus spread across the entirety of the deal.

A special teams ace and promising talent at safety with versatility to aid at linebacker in a pinch, his presence helps to stabilize the depth chart a bit for both Eberflus and incoming special teams coordinator Nick Sorensen.

The 26-year-old will first need to be medically cleared after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury last season, but the deal marks another key retention in a growing list of them executed by the Cowboys in the days ahead of free agency.

I can't wait until 12pm ET baby!!!!!!!! I'm going to make you and everyone else eat yummy crow with hot sauce!!
Why would we eat crow. We did nothing to be served it.
Are you going to do a FA start day what is on the menu….giving you another thread idea.
:lmao:

He's a tweener. He has no position. You can either play him as an undersized weak LB who gets pushed around or an oversized stiff hipped DB who can't cover anyone.

I don't get the move. These are the stiffs you have to upgrade if anything is going to change.
:hammer:It's just amazing how this front office just continues to put crap out there like this and expect the fans to accept this.

It's BS.......Just another sign that nothing has changed in this organization. Will go ahead and expect us to do nothing in free agency.

No i'm actually trying to get a PINNED Free Agency page for all outside news that's not about the Cowboys, Risen is taking over and I want him stopped!!! (Jealousy lol, I LOVE YOU RISEN)

I don’t understand stuff like this. You can find a guy like Bell in the 7th round or undrafted free agency. Yet we hear “cap cap cap” excuses when it comes to guys that can make a real impact like Derek Henry.
They know what they have in Bell. How many 7th rounders can come in and take over right away.
Bell is much better than a 7th rounder at this point. As you need to maintain a group of core players. No rookie learning curve.

Right, I wish they would have signed Parsons earlier , when he could have been signed a little cheaper but now he will be a 42 to 45 million dollar man.
We really do not know if he would have been cheaper.
Fans want to assume that. Then bag on the team and Jerry in hindsight.

Jerry could have given Micah $40 million anyway.
