How was LVE able to hang around so long? He was cheap...and willing. Depth guy if nothing else.

Can't say I'm too surprised, the Cowboys have very little pass rush depth on the roster and always had spots to fill. I expected 1 or multiple of Williams, Fowler, or Clowney to be back. Williams probably had the most economical contract of that group.

What's frustrating is at times you saw a flash of a nice play, then some back breaking penalty, or over running a play. I really thought he would have developed much more by this point, but he did have a better 2nd half of last season. Perhaps the injury pushed back his development and in a new scheme has a chance to improve. In NFL money this is a smaller low risk contract and though it would be nice to take a bigger swing it's hard to hate on a minimal contract for depth.

Now if this was a Kenneth Murray's deal totally different story...

I’m fine with it. That’s basically minimum wage in today’s NFL.

There was a small few of players I wanted to see return in this new scheme. Sam was one.

Fans need to keep in mind that none of these players are returning w/o CP's blessing. In other words, he may see something in his scheme for Sam......lol

Right there with you on that one. I don't think he really wants to go through the full offseason program unless the money is right otherwise perhaps he waits until August.

By resigning this guy.......this just proves this administration has no clue what a 3-4 LBer looks like. Inside guy or Outside guy. We are still trying to plug 4-3 players into a totally different scheme...it's just a recipe for disaster.

Starters can't play every down. You need depth.

Like it or not, Sam Williams is adequate depth (not great, but good enough to rotate in to give guys a breather)
