If Mackenzie leaves and Leary Leaves...there goes your OG Depth and OC depth.

We know zack can play most positions.

I don't know if they will look for more OG/C depth in the draft or if they might consider moving Brown or Green. Have no clue if they feel either would be ok inside vs being the swing tackle.

It does make you wonder why they would go to the extent of signing Brown back, even at the league minimum, if Green was on track to take over the role.

The kid never was on track, getting injured in June,,, I would hope that they treat Green like the developmental rookie he is, no expectations. Heck, he was projected for the 5th round IIRC.

Until we see the numbers I'm guessing camp body we're familiar with. If the money is higher then that he's back in the backup OT mode. Could be viewing it like this. Someone signs Leary which makes Green the primary backup everywhere but center. Brown is then the second backup OLine that gets dressed on Sundays. But frankly its probably a zero risk deal for someone who might not make the team.

I thought we used a valuable 3rd round pick on the valuable swing tackle position...hmmm.

Need two backup tackles, and Brown has at least shown he can play in actually games.

Before this signing, the backups were just Ronald Leary (who is only tendered) and Chaz Green. Wouldn't be surprised if Bernadeau signs elsewhere if we also get a vet center/guard backup since Leary cannot play center.

If they do see potential in Brown, could it be that they will groom him for Swing Tackle for after Free has departed and Green is the RT ?
Will depend on the signing I guess. Not so much the money, more so the years 2-3. If one year, then forget everything I just said :)

This guy was our swing tackle on game day for 15 games, so yes, key signing. Maybe Green pushes him off the roster or to inactive list, but until that happens, you don't want to lose your #3 OT

Actually, I think he has shown the exact opposite.

Brown was terrible with both the Saints and the Giants prior to coming to Dallas.

You always want to upgrade depth like Brown, but you are not guaranteed that you'll be able to upgrade depth like Brown. I'm fine with signing him and letting someone force him off the roster.

So our 2nd round pick from last year has failed like 50 drug tests and is now suspended and our 3rd round pick is MIA and apparently is now the 4th OT?

They love Zack's brother who can play G and C, wonder if they grab him but he may be too rich, most have him going in the second.

Dallas will use one of supplemental picks on back up center. Maybe Zach brother.
