I must applaud Jethro & Son. I thought for sure we’d go WR or CB. But we went in the trenches which is a much better building block. And Booker is a 1st round talent while being touted further down. And hopefully sound replacement for Martin .

This is a deep WR draft and there should be ample talent for a WR2 further down. Hopefully we’ll also look to shore up DL in middle rounds.

Now that we are back to three 1st round picks on OL we don’t need a 1st round talent at RB. There’s two picks I’m looking at for RB with Arizona State in 3rd round or Texas Tech in 5th round .

I am ok with this pick. I was hoping for a trade down. Supposedly they said they had offers, but did not work out for them.
Will be curious to see what they were. If a. few spots for 1 extra pick, or if too far down, for 1 extra pick.

They said this before, about offers and stayed with their pick. I believe they took Martin at that time. Hopefully Booker is the next Martin. No reason to believe he can't be.

I was hoping for Warren at TE though, or one of the guys on Defense.

Saw from Kiper that some teams were trying to get in front of the Colts before they took Warren.
Guess those offers weren't much if they were calling Dallas and/or Miami and neither team took it

How is this a deep WR class? Draft RB rd 2

dont waste a pick on WR at this point and sign a free agent stop gap for a year

I think there are maybe 2 or 3 more WRs that are marginally better than what Dallas has already. I don't think they Cowboys we have a chance to take any of them at 76 for they have to pull the trigger at 44. After that, there is little chance they get a difference maker at WR.

IMO, taking Booker at 12 really blew any chance of having a great overall draft. Their biggest needs are RB, WR, DL, LB. It looks like most of these needs will be filled in day 3 which means chances are greater they do not fix the problems.

If the Cowboys really believe the only way to fix the OL is to draft 5 first round players, then they are doomed as a team.

The pick doesn't surprise me. Adding more receivers isn't going to help this team, an offensive line that can facilitate running the ball to ensure that your game plan doesn't come down to relying on Dak Prescott's arm is. His best season is still the rookie year where they had one of the best running games in the league.

I would have agreed with the pick if we would have picked up some quality free agents.

This DL will get worked again this year.

Been saying all along. The less Dak throws the ball, the better off this team will be.

Let's get back to running the ball and not finish 27th in rushing again.

A RB selected in the next couple rounds will add to this but Jerry should have bought a FA Rb last season when you could have gotten a Derrick Henry for 8 million and not have to draft one

I think we take a RB in the next couple of rounds, but even if we don't, all of our RBs already just got better with last nights pick.

A little bit of context of how we got to three first round onlinemen. Certainly wasn't the plan.
Tyler Smith was drafted to replace Tyron but has end up becoming an All-Pro guard. So rather than moving him to LT which was part of the original plan they drafted Tyler Guyton as the future LT.
Then we had another future Hall of famer retire in Martin Right guard.. so Booker is drafting to replace Martin.

Forcing a pick is how you swing and miss. If there isn’t a receiver that helps us in this draft, then don’t draft one at all. Keep drafting BPA and then trade for one after the draft using a pick from next years draft.
