owens was not the TEAM. You can think he was, hell he thought he was.
he wasn't. I give you the Eagles minus owens. Were they worse?

One huge distraction is gone. I'm sure there are players (Romo) feeling a ton of bricks being lifted off his shoulders.

You keep on believing owens made the Cowboys. You will be pleasantly surprised this coming season. That's a good thing.

13-3 and nothing in the end is the same as any thing else.
Unless 13-3 with zero to show for it is acceptable to you.

Call me ******** then. We're a less talented team today then yesterday, that much is undeniable. Replacing The Player's production will be difficult. But there's a lot of time in FA left, we've got 11 draft picks and a fair amount of cash to address this and other needs.

To dismiss this, in addition to the possibility that chemistry and discipline will be better because of this, out of hand seems pretty ******** to me.

i expect we'll finish better than 9-7 next year.

I hope so, i just can't see it with the current team our WR depth was bad 1 years ago right now it's just sad and when you don't have a passing game your running game will suffer.

Didn't you know owens was the last WR ever in the NFL or draft?

So they were a Super Bowl contending team before Owens. Made it to the Super Bowl with Owens injured. Almost won the Super Bowl with an injured Owens. Then, years lapse before they reach the NFC Championship game again.

Compare that to the talent we have assembled.

We're a borderline playoff team with Owens.

I will go out on a limb and predict that TO will retire without a Super Bowl Championship.

So if we are not going to win a SB with or without him, why put up with his nonsense day in and day out? Why should every other player have to answer questions about TO on a daily basis?

And they would be if TO were here or not this season. In fact I can make the argument they are a worse problem with TO on the team than they are with TO gone, as neither seems to have the ability to control the locker, and that is where TO was the biggest problem.

WIth him gone Wade has one less ringleader challenging his lack of authority, and Garrett doesn't have Jerry agreeing in public that TO needs the ball more. He's free to gameplan without having to worry about funneling large chunks of the offense through one WR to keep his trap shut.

I'm no fan of either, and I agree until they prove otherwise they are still problems, but removing TO just made both of their jobs and chances to succeed better, not worse.

I've said before I would rather keep TO and hire Shanahan and give Owens one more chance to get in line with a real HC who has actual respect and authority. But failing that, this is a move I thought needed to be done if we were going to keep these two.

A poodle could challenge Wade's authority, and Garrett has bigger things to worry about now like coming up with a running play that's not a shotgun draw, how his non blocking o line is going to deal with 8 and 9 man fronts and how to get the ball to a WR who can't even run routes.

They're out of excuses now and their jobs just got a lot harder
