Cowboys remaining draft picks

Trading for Brooks was what I had in mind. Good to see others think so as well, fingers crossed.

Will McClay directed his first draft with the Cowboys in 2014.

From that point on, the Cowboys have selected 14 players in the 4th round. They have produced:

8 Pro Bowl selections

37 seasons as a starter, an average of over two and a half seasons, excellent for 4th round picks.

1 Offensive Rookie of the Year

The Cowboys have done very well in the 4th round.

Jake Ferguson
Dalton Schultz
Tony Pollard
Dorance Armstrong
Tyler Biadasz
Damien Wilson
Anthony Hitchens
Dak Prescott

......in just a 12 year period.

Everybody knows who the best players are in the 1st and 2nd rounds, pretty much. What separates the skill levels of NFL scouting departments are the guys that they discover in day #3.

The first round for day #3 is the 4th round.

The ability of the Cowboys to improve quickly depends on who they find below the 3rd round. With three 4th round picks, the Cowboys scouting department is carrying the ball right now.

This will be their time to create a big play.

The trade for Lance was a 2024 fourth.

The trade for Mingo was a 2025 fourth.

Would have have jsut gone back in time tonight for those picks?
Yes, I miss worded that, meant to say “could have used them LIKE this year…..”…. we could have used those picks to package and move up, like we CAN do this year since we have 3 4th round picks, can package with the 3rd to move up for a better linebacker maybe late second? We throw them away on dump players like Lance and Milton when if we keep those picks, we have ammo to play with, like we have this year. We all knew Lance and Milton were total projects….we got fleeced for giving up anything earlier than a 6th for either….they both cheeks.

Yeah, both those picks would be worth much more than we got out of either player.

we don’t typically trade well. We get a hit every now and then but there are more misses for sure.

Watching defensive players go off the board inthe 2nd and 3rd round is going to be a death of a 1000s cuts to most fans but still alot of talent in the meat of the draft (3rd-4th round) that can help this team improved. I'll definitely will have my eye on linebackers Friday night.

Perfect scenario for Dallas if not trade up is to hope offensive players come off the board early and often before pick 92 comes up

Thanks sir!!

I would dangle the third or two fours for Jordyn Brooks and see if Miami bit.
Sounds good but is that before or after they fleece us into giving them a 2nd next year

They have already said that they aren't trading him.
They also said they're going to bust the budget only thing they busted was a gut!!!

They can get some solid players in round 3 and 4. And if a few can turn into starters in a few years, and the other two be big contributors.
Jazz.

If a few can turn into starters? Are you not in any way worried about LB? Is downs going to play the position?

I get it. Everyone is super excited they got Downs. I am too. Kids a freaking stud.

This FO literally has not addressed the weakest position from the worst defense in franchise history. And you’re trying to convince people they will get some solid guys to help that may be starters eventually?

What is the freaking plan here?
